What side was more forward on yours

As far as I could tell mine were even, Unless the frame rails are different lengths

My pass side was farther forward. It was completely my fault I must have smacked something in place the wrong way and forgotten to re measure.

Tubing sizes on the square shaft please!

I'll have to do some measurements tomorrow

The tubing sizes are 2" and 2.5", both .25 wall

Theres a lot of grinding, don't forget ear plugs

You can;t really see but I ground down 4 flat sides and then beat the tube on, hopefully I cans till get the u-joint out lol

Mounted my front square driveshaft today

I haven't done anything in almost 3 weeks, it will be another week or two before I do more, schools almost over

It runs now at least, my dad did all the wiring while I was in school.

I did get two new bendix front calipers for 20 bucks plus shipping, after I get them and make sure they work I'll put up the source

I'm making a list of what I need to do to drive it:

-Drill out rear shackle mount holes,. then use 7/16" UNF with lock nuts to bolt it on.
-Cut hole for transfer case shifter
-Bolt torque convert to flywheel
-Run transmission cooling lines
-Fix brakes lines(Braided front and rear lines, plus new hard line running to rear
-Put on rear u bolts

-trim the rest of the fenders
-Install shackles
-Put in new drive shaft(I'll probably have to have it modified)

-get new TRE

It should drive after that stuff

Then I'm going to

-install seats

-Mount shocks

-make sliders
-new tie-rod
-maybe make an exhaust
-make rear bumper
-Paint roof
-make anti wrap bar
-weld axle tubes
-Trim 14 bolt lip
-install hydro assist
-poser shots

Now on to this stuff

Plus a rear sway bar, I'll do that tomorrow

Also the brakes suck, I'm probably going to put disk in the back

I got a sway bar from a 99 land rover

It should add around 80 pounds per inch of torsional rate

I'll put it on tomorrow

I think I'll get my gas tank straps tomorrow also, so maybe I can get a poser flex shot

I ordered some stuff from DIY4X and it should show up some time soon, then I can do the traction bar and hydro assist

I still need to order the end cap from jkw offroad

Also how many degrees do you think my rear end needs to be shimmed down?

My pinion angle is opposite of what it should be

I drive it a little, not far, everything wasn't done

I need longer brake lines before I can flex it out

Heres the proof :D and my hydro assist cylinder plus tabs, and also the anti wrap axle brackets

I took of the rear trim and it looks a little better. It also seems the front has settled a little

that pinion angle doesnt look too bad.drive it first and see what it does.looks like you only need a few degrees if anything.under torque it should come move a lil.but try it first.looks like maybe a 4 degree shim would do it.looks to be close to mine and it doesnt vibrate.

It seems to be working so far, nothing bad that I've noticed

I took a better picture today

Nice work.

Thanks, your suburban looks great also, I can;t post in your thread though, members only.

Howdiy,

How come you're running a square front Drive shaft? I'm not familiar with the idea behind it.

It is a cheap way to have a long travel drive shaft, with the 52" front springs I was pulling the stock d-shaft apart.

Plus it seems very strong being .25" wall tubing

Lol I yanked my front shaft apart with just 4in lift springs...

Impressive :haha:

I need to make a list to see how much this crap is going to come out too, running out of money lol

diff covers 160
tie rod 85
steering box cap 40
d60 gears and spacer 200
14bolt free or 180, depends on if my rear gears are good to swap into my dads truck
Poo pipe 100
Traction bar stuff 60

I'm probably forgetting some crap, probably a lot. I should be good and I'm hoping the gears are good in my 14 bolt right now.

Not anymore, I couldn't find any local

I'll just keep the th350 till it blows up

I just got my 1.5" .25" wall tube for 12 bucks :D

Too bad the adapters are 52 bucks

I also ordered my rear disc brackets and a front diff cover, I'm going to cry too much money in one day lol

Great lake offroad for the disc brake setup, it was on sale for 47 shipped

And rock crusher for the front diff, 70 shipped

I'm trying to use every vendor that supports the forums I post on at least once lol. I've only used DIY4X and ballistic fab multiple times

kerts stuff is phenominal. theres quite a few parts of his on my truck and there will soon be more. ive never really dealt with ballisitc. can you get some pics up of the rockcrusher diff cover when you get it. what made you choose the rockcrusher cover over any other cover?
