I have a K5!

Now with CUCV brushguardy goodness.

Hell no.

A-the brushguard is a bit tweaked.

B-the bumper, when hanging by only the lower outer cap screws, wanted to sag down and forward.

I think A was the majority of the problem. It might shoot off the frame rails like a rocket if I ever try to take it off.

Thanks guys, however in this case it's the crappy camera in my phone. I REALLY need to get it repainted. Hopefully this fall or else it's going into the garage and I'm getting a beater for the winter.

Monumentous day!:wink1:

Officially hit 200,000 miles today.

I say officially because when I got it 31's were on it and the speedo was about dead nuts accurate to my GPS. However it came from the factory with and did at least the first 100k with 29" 235/75R15's...so who knows, I might still actually be under 200,000. Way to go with those accurate gauges GM. I doubt the 32" 265/75R16's I put on have helped the equation much so I just go by what the odo says.
(Click the two pics for video.)

Also, meet Bob the dog. Niece and nephew got it somewhere and immediately thought of me. I have to figure out how to get it to stick better.

Christ I hate trying to figure out how to embed videos. Can never remember how to do it.

That thing looks cleaner every time I see it. Makes me want to go back to stockish! I'll say it again...SWEET!

Ugh, the paint is horrible. Bad late 80's GM paint combined with an almost as bad repaint sometime a long time ago. It's getting repainted soonish.

I'm trying. Getting a DD vehicle soon so I can take better care of it.

Your Blazer actually got me thinking about how I can keep Krusty and still have something reliable. I don't neccessarily want a diesel, but I do want a 90-91 that is rust free. Then I will pull Krusty's rust free front clip and use it on the newer Blazer, along with Krusty's 205. The more I look at Krusty the more I realize it would cost to fix all the rust that she has built up. Keep it up, I like the look, if not the color.

The color is going to change. Unsure yet as to what. Maybe a gray top and a dark blue body? Dunno. Might end up being whatever is cheapest, what tractor paint is available, or my buddy feels like doing.

I'm getting a DD here soon so it will be retired to a more leisurely life as the play toy, backup vehicle, and useful brawn.

Welp, something arrived in the mail today.

Thanks tRUSTy and Thunder!

Some more Blazer porn as well. Found a mild trail our drivers have apparently created.
Path of least resistance, make it harder for them to drive on the road and they'll just go overland.:thumb:

Oh, should have a new DD this weekend so The Blazer is going to semi-retire to a life of leasure. In time too...got a Class II oil leak suddenly. (what happened to the bang head smilie?)

Oh hell, you haven't seen the ones I've owned?

This one has 235/75R15 BFG AT's, Old Man Emu lift springs, a turbo muffler, Herculined rockers, 2.0L 4cyl, 5 speed stick, and most importantly...WORKING AC AND DEEP TINT! WOOT! Should be around 24mpg. Yeah baby!

that little focker looks like fun AJ....so your painting the K5....any other plans?

Now I know what I want as an economizer. I was thinking Grand Cherokee, never put much thought into a Tracker. That one looks good! Pretty economical to lift I assume. Oh no, not another toy. My wife will never give me my nuts back!!

Hoping it helps tame my fast and small bug lately.
Well, get that Detroit in there. Then hopefully a set of 33x12.5R15's for fun. Something toothy like a Swamper. Probably have to trim a bit. Might cut the fangs off front and rear...might not.
All sorts of stuff but the highlights include:
-Stop all the leaks.
-Find that infernal rattle.
-manual transmission (SM465, NV3500, NV4500, SM465 + Ranger, something)
-fix the various body things like seals and weatherstripping, rehang the d-side door, new tailgate straps, tint the front windows, maybe manual windows and locks, etc etc etc.
-better exhaust setup.
Basically just make it more capable and give it the care I've been forced to just not give it.

They're fun little vehicles. I've owned 3 of the square body two door convertibles and a '03 Grand Vitara and '02 XL7. Great vehicles, real 4x4's, zippy enough, and good gas mileage. The 4cyls more so than the V6's though.
Lifting them is fairly easy. Rear is coil springs and front is McPherson strut coil sprung. Lifts range from $200 coil spacers to the $800 OME lift to $1500 Calmini full on suspension lifts and more.
Might put a locker in it.:D
