I have a K5!

Yep. Remember my white and black Blazer? Two colors that show grime and dirt the quickest and most...

Oh ya I fergot your other Blazer had a black on it too. My work truck is white and as long as the truck is evenly dirty it hides it pretty well. I think Ive washed it probably once a month is all.

Washed my K5 last night...I should of been like you and went out west and got a K5. Stupid rockers.

If it makes you feel any better we still have to fix the floor cracks by the seat mounts. I have a minor amount of rust there. Nothing we can't weld and plate away though.

Yeah Im making a support plate for my drivers floor this weekend. Ive got a bad crack on one of the front bolts, The whole floor is getting replace at sometime but this will hold for now.

Time for some 2x6 boxed rockers and some plate floors!

Im all for 4x6 boxed rockers! Trust me it has been contemplated. But then poor Kert cant sell me a set of sliders.

Its about a 50/50 which way its going to go. I need to find the write up for doing it. Im somewhat concernt about where the back of them is getting welded to.

My buddy Jim has 1/4 plate for floorboards in his Blazer. Rear floor is all 1/8th plate welded straight to the frame. Haha

6.2Blazer has put up pictures of his Blazer with plate floors. I likes it. One day if I ever need too...

Could always do the boxed rockers and then have him make you some tubes going off of the boxes. That's what Big Ugly is getting.

Hopefully getting hung this weekend...maybe Monday as a divorce day present.

Focking sweet. Glad to see everything's coming together, AJ. Are those shot with actual Line-X brand liner? They look like they'll grip your feet pretty good but keep mud caking on them to a minimum.

It's Rhino Lining actually. The local Rhino Lining guy is a nice guy and does a lot of custom work for decent prices. The local Line-X place is part of a dealership and if it isn't a pickup bed they can't find their ass with both hands.

Should have the floors done in a few weeks.

Must of had jake spray those for you. I recognize those trucks now, cedar run? Always liked the cucv, used to see it off of aero park when I worked in there.-Andy

Yep, good guy Jake. He's doing the interior and I think I might have him do it's hitch too.

Yep, on Cedar Run and yep, I work on Aero Park. You won't see them around much longer though...well, Big Ugly has been downstate since June but they'll both be gone soon.

Yup. Now to find a place with a garage that fits Big Ugly. SQUEAKS under a 7' door.

We fixed the seat mounts yesterday. Welded some 3/16" plate on top of the humps the seat mounts sit on and welded up the cracks. Passenger side outer rear seatmount was not only cracked up but the whole assembly was pushed down below the level of the rest of the floorboards. My buddy got a bottle jack on it and punched it back up in place. He also fixed the two cracked and rusty spots on the tailgate at the edges of the window channel.

Rhino Lining is next!

Do you have any pics or details on the tailgate repair? I am about to do some metal work on mine and I am trying to decide how to fix my gate. I would like to replace the metal, but I don't know how difficult it will be to fit a piece properly.

I can get some pics. To be honest I was putting the seats back in and actually missed most of the work he did on the tailgate. Took him all of 5 minutes total as the cracks weren't bad. Mainly just two small cracks perpendicular to the window channel at the very edges of it. I think there's some internal body structure there and the outer skin had just cracked and pulled away from it.

I know he said he just ground out the rusty stuff and basically added metal with the welder. He didn't waste much time making it pretty either as the Rhino Liner is going to cover the area.

Unfortunately, I am very familiar with the area you are refering to. I am planning on using a truck gate in the future, but I would like to fix the existing gate properly. I appreciate the offer of pics but I will have to figure it out once I get mine cleaned up.

Are you Rhino lining the exterior or the interior and gate? If just the interior and gate, how far are going on the outside of the gate?

Thanks and Keep Up the Good Work!

Here's a pic anyway. Like I said, I think he just ground out the rust and sort of fused it all together there with new metal...which sounds exactly like welding but you probably get what I mean.

Rhino Lining the interior and then the interior of the gate and the top exterior lip of the gate down to the "bumper" ridge on the top of the gate. I figure that's the rust prone area anyways.
