The only sound desdening material I have in mine is the herculiner and ther roof liner. It echos like crazy outside the truck and sounds tinny inside. But beats the hell out of no radio at all.

then it's pretty much exactly what I expected. I am kicking myself though as I forgot to discuss the lip of the tailgate with him and he didn't do it...since I never asked him about it.
Oh well, I have a buddy who does a DIY liner setup and I'll see when he's doing another and maybe sneak it in.Dude that looks great! What kind of prep work had to be done? Did he just wipe it down with some solvent or sandblast it or what? How do the wood panels look plasticoated?
Thanks man.Looking great AJ....
Well, I wish I had done a bit more measuring when I made them but I was on a time line and behind...wow that looks amazing! awesome idea with the rear side panels, they look like they turned out pretty good!
The Rhino Lining should be a sound deadener. I know all of the pickups I've put it in have gotten quieter afterward. Rubber granules + thick coat = sound deadener.
Dunno how effective it will be vs the factory insulation, carpet, and interior panels but I'll know soon.
Echoes a good bit now. When I was driving it over Tuesday morning I kept thinking, "sounds like Big Ugly only I can actually hear the exhaust AND the engine".
Random thought but do you have the hood insulation? I'm told that actually quiets the clank from the engine bay down quite a bit. The Blazer is actually noticeable quieter than Big Ugly in that respect.
AJM,
In an earlier reply you mentioned the tailgate and the installer didn't do what you wanted!
What didn't get done right? It all looks great!

Yeah, I'd say it's a bit louder...but not much. I can't say much on how much warmer it is in the vehicle now because I didn't have heat until a few weeks ago so I'm still not used to being warm in the Blazer. Still finding the "just right" settings. It is quieter than without any interior, but when the stereo plays, it sounds about as loud outside as inside.
Not as good and the temp from the engine/tranny warm it up a bit.
I do have the hood insulation, but half of the firewall stuff is gone(dry rotted and fell off when I was messing with the wiring) and it does make it rather quiet compared to with nothing.
