Introductions & Greetings

Greetings

Hello, 1998 S10 Blazer 4X4. :D

My name is Jerry and I have a 98 S10 Blazer (sounds like an addiction meeting :o )

We, (wife and I) bought it new and now have 70K on it with very few problems.

I do all my own mechanical work. Sort of a hobby for me.

Chevy Blazer Puzzle

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to this forum and hope you can help. I just purchased a 1998 Chev Blazer to flat tow behind my rv. It has auto transmission, and I see buttons for 4Hi, 4Lo and 2Hi. I called a chevy dealer and was told it was possible, all I had to do was put the transmission in park, 4x4 in neutral and steering wheel unlocked. Anyone know anything about it?

Headers And Xhaust

I Have A 88 K5 Blazer, Just Repaced The 4x4 Hubs, Pads, Rotors, Calipers, Drums , Shoes, Ball Joints. Now I Need To Weld The "dog Leg" Before The Back Door Falls Off, I Just Broke My Rear Glass (the Inner Parts Rusted Out And Broke Off). And When I Start The Truck The Backup Lights Come On, I Hope They Go Off Once I Start Driving. Well, Ineddless To Say I Love The Truck And I Love The 350 That Powers It. I'm Looking For Suggestions On Getting A Little More Power From My New Expert Friends. Headers? Exhaust? Give Me Some Suggestions So I Can Get Started On My "makeover", Thanks, Mack

Hey folks. I'm an old lurker looking to start making posts. I'm currently working on the frame of an 85 Ford Bronco II with a HPD60 and 14bt FF. I'm looking at getting a sb400 and 700r4 to go along so I'll probably be asking a ton of tech questions in the near future.

Is there a secret to getting a signature to work or an I missing something?

Hello I'm a newbee

I live in Loveland Colorado and drive an 86 Blazer with a 6.2 liter diesel and a Banks Sidewinder turbo. I used to drive an 88 Suburban with the same setup, love those diesels. At any rate I am looking for a good diesel mechanic in northern Colorado, any suggestions? Glad to be here.

Hello from Arizina

I go by Blackfoot and I'm from Gilbert, Arizona. I have a 1975 Blazer that is pretty much stock except for wheels and tires and some minor engine work.
Of course nearly evething has been rebuilt or re-upolstered at some time. Just this week end I noticed that it has a small hair line crack on the bottom of the frame by the steering box. Not sure if I need to be concerned about this. I'd welcome any comments or advice.

A little more about your truck , I wonder if we've driven by each other . I am in Waaaaay east Mesa , but get around often .

As for the crack , weld it up and install a ORD brace .

I did mine with the brace before I ever went larger tires . Later I found a small crack when I finally got around to working on my leaks ( have new ones now LOL ) , but the crack had to have been there before . So my friend Allan welded it up for me .

6 months after welding , it looks fine :D

Suggested Tips to Lower Your Auto Insurance Costs

1. Prices vary from company to company, so it pays to shop around. Get at least three price quotes.

2. You buy insurance to protect you financially and provide peace of mind. It's important to pick a company that is financially stable.

3. Don't shop price alone. Ask friends and relatives for their recommendations. Contact your state insurance department to find out whether they provide information on consumer complaints by company.

4. Before you buy a new or used car, check into insurance costs. Car insurance premiums are based in part on the car’s sticker price, the cost to repair it, its overall safety record, and the likelihood of theft.

5. Establishing a solid credit history can cut your insurance costs. Insurers are increasingly using credit information to price auto insurance policies. To protect your credit standing, pay your bills on time, don't obtain more credit than you need and keep your credit balances as low as possible.

6. Companies offer discounts to policyholders who have not had any accidents or moving violations for a number of years. You may also get a discount if you take a defensive driving course. If there is a young driver on the policy who is a good student, has taken a drivers education course or is at a college out of the area without a car, you may also qualify for a lower rate. I feel your pain. My 2nd 700r4 has left my 84 K5 sitting most of the summer.   I don't think they would even make a good boat anchor. I would love to put in a 4 speed, but the price was right on a TH400. Got to go with what the checkbook says. Best of luck to ya.
