whats up guys.
hows it hangin, my names tom, and i got the best of both worlds, i got an 86 toyota pickup, with a 3inch lift, 33inch mud brutes, 411 gears , and a killer paint job. oh ya baby its snow camo!!!, its fun, but its no full size, thats for sure. i just obtained a very healthy 76 k5 jimmy!, it has a 6 inch lift 33's a very strong 350, with a mild cam, and a 4 speed stick!!, thats right it was converted, and they did a ptretty good job on it too. im in the process of making it big enough for a set of, 38x14.5lt15 pitbull rockers. its a work in prgress 4 sure. the diff's are so dinky? what can i do?? o ya the trucks gotta a pretty nasty gear in it right now!!, any ways look forward to hearing from u chevy guys and, this site rocks!!!

My name is Jerry I live in Yucaipa California (southern) at the foot of Mt. San Gorgonio. I,ve been into off roading since my teens but I havent done any for a while until recently. My daughter is old enough now so I can take her with. I have a 1970 Blazer with dana 44 axles, slightly built 350 currently running 33's. It is a project truck. It was basically stripped when I bought it. It runs great though. I picked up a Warn 8274 winch for it so now I'm in the design stage of building a new front bumber for it. This is my first computer (got it August 2005) so please bear with me. I am looking forward to exchanging info & ideas with other enthusiests. I also own a 1972 3 door suburban 2wd but that is my work vehicle. No plans on changing that anytime soon. Thanks for the great web site.

Are you planning on lifting it? If so, I had an idea for a front bumper. I'll see if I can explain what I had in mind, in words. If you have any height on your vehicle at all, regardless if you wheel or not, it's a pain to do any work in the engine compartment. I thought about making a bumper that has a platform to stand on, approximately 12". In order to get to the platform, have the grille guard flip down, providing a step. After the work is done, rotate the "step" back up and secure with cotter pins and clevis pins. The possibilities are endless, and sometimes, there aren't any step stools out in the mud. Just an idea. Hi, my name is Joel from Conroe, Texas. I still have my high school truck, 1969 Chevy C10 shortbox fleetsie, turqoise, owned it for almost 20 years. It has been featured in Truckin and Custom Classic Trucks magazine. I'm currently building a 1972 Chevy Blazer 2wd, making a rodster out of it. I have recently bought a 1968 for my son who's turning 11, I got my truck at 13 so I figure it's time to get him involved in old trucks and keep him out of trouble, like I did. I spent a lot of time in the garage, kept me off the streets. With all these projects, I hope you guys can help me in collecting parts. Right now I am looking for a good factory tailgate for my Blazer, I bought an after market one and it does not fit right. Thanks guys.

My vehicle won`t move, and I hope someone could help me with a little plan for screwing down the automatic transmission (TH700) and converter. I have found someone who will fix it, but I need to get it down myself. I`m pretty green on this level. Please help me.

To start My name is Randy Knutson, I am from Pewaukee, Wisconsin. I own a 1979 Chevy Blazer and love it, but i am looking for a more fuel efficient vehicle right now. I am currently trying to get rid of my '79 Blazer K5. There have been some bites but not many. I have modified it quite a bit with a new edelbrock carburator and a high performance exhaust by Flowmaster. If there is anyone out there interested let me know. Thank you

Hello, I just became a member of CK5 although I don’t own one. My interests’ lie in the slightly more vintage burbs from the sixties, can I still belong to the sub culture? I live in Great Falls, MT and found out about CK5 through a friend who is a member. I have a 1965 GMC suburban, which was originally a 2WD. I put the body on a 1976 truck chassis and swapped in a 500 ci Cadillac motor with a 700R4 and 241 t/c. I have collected parts for crossover steering and a doubler setup but have yet to get to those. I still need to make some headers and finish installing the brake lines before I can drive it. I have found a lot of good info in your site and I’m sure it will be of great help in the future, thanks.

That sounds like a good idea. I have a design drawn up, & have the steel(Freebie. My pop's knows some cool people) I already planned on it having a work platform, but I didn't think about a step. By the way I do plan on lifting it. Probably 4 inches maybe 6. I havent decided which route I'm going to take on that yet. The terrain is pretty diverse around here which is cool but it makes it harder to decide how I want to set up the truck. I'm not concerned with high speed driving, & most places I go don't have a lot of standing water, but I do have a tent trailer I wouldn't mind taking on short trips. Any long haul camping trips wil be done in the suburban, it's set up for Hauling extra weight already. So the trailer doesnt have to pull like a dream, It might not even be a factor I don't know. Anybody with a non stock suspension on their Blazer come on by I'll let you know if you should try hauling a tent trailer with it or not.Ha ha. That project will be on the shelf for a while anyways. It does pretty well as it is. I have a lot of (more) little things to clean up on it. Lines, wiring, etc. thanks for the idea I think I might Incorperate it in my plan. I usually do a moc up out of wood to get an idea of how it's going to look , fit, & its weak spots. Wood is cheaper than steel easier to fabricate & easyer to take apart.
