Love the first gen!
Let us know what you find please. I decided not to pursue this after I looked at the weight differences but I would be coming from SBC, not BBC. What is the intended use of the k5?
Hey all about 3 months ago I got my first Blazer.(Had a 74 Chevy C10 before) It's a 1980, I got it from a guy who had done a few mods to it. Including a rollcage over the back half. He Threw in a softtop when i bought it, so what the hell. As is right now its sittin on a 6-inch lift with 35-in Pro Comp Muds. stock 350 with K&N air filter open face. Also has fully reclinable seats from an Acura/Honda/toyota or some small import style car. These are sitting on a custom steel tubed set up tyed in at the firewall and in the back just below the stock bench seat. Damna re they comfy! I'm Currently in northern california(East Bay) But am moving to Washington State(puget sound area) in the late spring. As of right now I have the following ideas in place to start getting this blazer the way i want it. new front springs, New tailgate ( does not have one now) High power Lights, a roof rack, New shocks, re-do the steering box( its still fine now) many power plant upgrades, including headers, intake, exhaust sytem to include, dual 2 chamber flowmasters. MSD ignition etc. I could go on and on.....Glad to be apart of this community.
for about 3 months now. The 700r4's just can't handle that much motor, unless you sink major $$$ into it....

Hello everybody! After several years of learning to navigate my computer and the internet I have finally joined a forum. I suppose I could join several of them since my automotive interests vary tremendously, but alas they ALL fall under ONE specific manufacturerer...GM. I switched from (bad word coming) Ford to Chevrolet in the summer of 1980 (July 4th to be exact) and purchased a '69 SS Camaro for $1100.00 and haven't looked back since. Summer of '97 I purchase my first GMC Jimmy, a '79 and last year I purchased another one. Oh, not to mention a '78 Corvette. So though my automotive interests vary the excitement of off-roading provides a sense of freedom unlike any other form of motorsport. So THAT is why I have chosen to join your forum and hope I am accepted. Bowtie Don
