Introductions & Greetings

Hello all, I'm Steve from the Philadelphia area. I don't have a K5 but am looking for a '69-'72 K5. They are hard to find at a reasonable price these days but I am always looking so i will find something to work on.

I wish GM would bring back the gen 1 K5 like ford is trying to do with the bronco.

If you know of any good 1st gen K5s fore sale let me know.

Welcome dude! Glad to see another out exploring!

Hello from Seattle. I'm interested in a CUCV, although a 6.2 civilian model would be good, too. My old girlfriend's dad had one. I had a 6.2 van converted to 4WD but I want a blazer now.

There’s been several 6.2 powered CUCV vehicles roll through the classified section in the last year, and a handful of guys who keep an eye.

Pull up a chair and make a few friends along the way, welcome aboard

Right on. Definitely like the 6.2 can't understand the haters. Mine poured fuel out of the pump, down the exhaust manifold and onto the ground, still drove hundreds of miles on it.
Cranked the starter for 30 seconds TONS of times in a row, cycling glow plugs several times, at the base of Snowdon in Colorado in January and it STARTED. Love that engine.

Also, getting 25 mpg in a full size van full of a huge amount of wall climbing gear (that's iron, not just aluminum), water for a week, etc., that's pretty nice.

My personal hate for the 6.2 was caused by walking after the crank broke a second time in the same truck

I figure by now the good ones are all that’s left :haha:

That's how I see it.
If it's still around then it's a good one

Hello all. New guy from Tacoma Wa. While I don't currently have a K5 at the moment I had a 77 in the past and I'm casually looking for one now but will be seriously looking to buy after the first of the year.

Your sin for selling back then was atoned when you bought this one. Welcome.

What's the plans for this one?
