Introductions & Greetings

Ok. My name is Sander and I live outside of the USA. The Netherlands in Europe. In 2002 I bought a 1988 K5 locally. I started to rebuilt it and modify it somewhat. And just when I swapped the rear out for a 12bolt axle I found, a law change came (around when I originaly joined here). The road taxes went from 33 euros ($42) a month to 200 euros ($255) a month. I had no choice but to put it in storage. Now years after I make some more money. I have 2 choices. Try to find a (rare) over 25 year old K5 that will be tax-free. Or build up the 88 and swallow the cost. 25 year old K5’s go for around $9000 in real bad shape. This makes me lean towards swallowing the tax and build this one up.

Even more bad luck, my 35x14.5x15 TSL's got stolen. Now I am looking to get other 35’s.

My name is Rush and I live in Hoover, AL. I have been married for 2 1/2 years and we are expecting our first child in April 2007. I am a CPA working for my father at his local accounting firm. I graduated from the University of Alabama in May 2002. While in college I purchased a 1974 K5 Blazer. It had significant rust and the motor was shot. I found this website right when it started up and it is full of great info. It has helped me out a ton in the past. I know plan on finishing up the Blazer and get it where I want it. Not too much to do but will take a little time and $. Y'all know all about that I'm sure. Anyway, keep the great info coming.

Hey yall, name is Brian and I'm from Creedmoor NC. I have a '90 Suburban with a 4 inch BDS lift, Rancho shocks, 4:11's front and rear, rolling on 35 inch Mickey Thompson Baja Claws. It currently has a stock 350. It also has a Warn winch bumper with a Warn 12000 winch and 2 Hella lights.
Plans for this include upgrading to dana 60 front and 14 ff in the rear, and going to a larger tire, and engine mods.

Hey my name is Andrew and i'm from Reno, NV. I've had my '70 GMC 1/2 ton s/b for about 3 years and i'm in love with it. When i got it it was running a 383 stroker and 32" tires, but unfortunately i destroyed that motor =(. I built a 350 for it, it has a new TCI TH350, and i re-built the NP205 with a twin-stick shifter from JKW offroad. It has 4" TCI ez-ride springs up front with ORD HD greaseable shackles, and a 4" shackle flip with the stock springs in the back. I had 33x12.50 wrangler MT/Rs on M/T classic locks, but those got pretty worn out and right now i'm running 285/65/16s. My friend had them on his tacoma and he rolled it, and i gave him $500 for all 4, plus the rims =)

New Guy

Hello everyone, I'm Dusty and I just recently purchases a 1983 Blazer. It was well kept by it's original owners, but still has some wear and tear from time. The vehicle already has some modifications like a 4" lift. I plan on rebuilding this bad boy over time and make it a moster off-road vehicle.:D

Hi, Im Craig from Port Clinton, Ohio. I have a 1989 Suburban, stock for the most part. Joined to get help/tips as there are no clubs in my area. Hope I can contribute as much as i use.

My name is Alex Zaganas, and I'm from Acworth, GA. I'm 16 and I wanted a cool vehicle to drive so I wound up with an 89' Jimmy in real good condition. I've only had it for about a month, so nothing done to it yet. First things first is to scrap the sound system the last owner had in it and make a creation of my own. This is an awesome site, I will continue lurking now.

not new to the site but new to blazin'

a week ago I bought my brothers 87 K5 blazer off him. it is fairly well set-up accorrding to him and I'm looking for some test time with her and I have come to this site alot for tech and such in the past because my Jeep CJ8 Scrambler has several GM parts. So when I bought the blazer I thought this would be a good place to find some blazer tech and talk and maybe some wheeling partners I am in the socal area but I am willing to travel.

Hi, ive been gone for a while from CK5. I noticed that i cant post attachments, and that i cant look at others pics. Can you please help?
thanks,
Mike

Blazer Newbie

Hello to everybody!

My name is Thomas, I live in Austria (Europe) and I'm new to vintage US-Cars. I always drove BMW and now Toyota Landcrusier, I like off road driving very much!
Funny story how I got my Blazer and first US-Car ever. I got it as a gift from a work mate of mine. Not knowing what I will get I took the Blazer over. It is a 79 K5 Cheyenne with automatic gear, power windows all around, air condition, diff lock, power steering, winter package and so on...I was impressed that those old cars have all the goodis of a modern car! However, I thought I will drive it a little and then scrap it. But then it turned out that the Blazer has been completely restored some years ago (engine and automatic gear rebuilt, new metal sheets, new paint job, etc.) and is in overall quite good condition. Just very minor matters and no broken or damaged things. So I started to invest time and money and finally I got crazy for old US-V8 engines and the Blazer in general! Great sound and power.

Installed new Flowtech headers, new dual 2 1/4 inch dual exhaust system, Edelbrock 500cfm carb, Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock camshaft. Renewed the suspension by a 4" Superlift all leaf system, new bushings, new pitman, steering arm, and Rancho dual steering stabilizer. Took off the carpet and rebuilding the floor for heavy duty utilization. Will use Protecta-Cote instsead of carpet. Got new Front seat from an Alfa 147. Restored all interior parts and the headliner. Will order new door boards and dasboard to completely renew the interior. Will also get a new paint job (RAL7022 umbragay). I hope I can finish my projet before sprint 2007, cause I want enjoy riding my new Toy :D

Btw... I also plan to change differential ratio. Have stock diff. gears (3,73 I think) and have 35x14,50 MT Baja Belted tyres. I still cannot deside wheter I shall take the 4.11 gear or 4.56...what do you think!? Can you recommend me something?? Please

So, enough the many words...cheers
Thomas
