Hi

The name's CJ, I'm 21 from MA. I work full time at a lame automotive garage working on any random car that shows up. In order to get there I daily drive my 86 std cab short bed. 350 w/edlebrock carb accel ignition, and I believe a mild cam. Turbo 350 w/ redline clutches and b&m shift kit. Lame 1/2 ton axles with 3.08 gears for some reason. I cant wait to get bigges axles and better gearing for the 35/15.5-15's oh, up front theres 4' springs and 2' shackles. Rears got 4' blocks on sagging springs with articulation killing airbags that lift it up to another 3.5" when full. it seems i can blast through any mud i can find, even headlight deep sludge. Rocks are a different story. If your not wearing a seat belt you'd better hold on for dear life just driving down a dirt road! Oh, cosmeticly I have a pretty roll bar. Oh and also a broked winshield and saggin driver door due to rotted floors, support, and rocker. Basicly theres nothing left to mount the left front of the cab so it moves all over. I got the truck not to long ago, almost the way it is. I seem to be my girlfriend personal on call mechanic, and since she drives a vw I havnt beed able to work on my truck except for needed repairs. I also have a current project in my garage that should be moving very soon. well 2 of them but they are about done. Anyways I plan on bringin the truck in for the winter for a list of mods. I'd like to either toss an s10 body or a circa 1957 pickup body on the frame. If I get cheap i may just fix the mounts and convert the front end to, well something! I'll let u guys know after I do it so I can be first! I wat to box the frame, brace the box, lift it more, install bigger axles, crossover steering, fab bumpers, extend drive shafts. I have custom suburban lift leafs to replace the sagging rears, but i was contemplating using the air bags and fabing ladder bars of 3 link or something. Oh, then slap on my friends 39.5" swampers. mmm so nice! Ok i could keep going, but this is way too damn long already, but al least you all know where im coming from so , HI!

Well, I'm a former K5 owner and now I want another. I had a 79 Jimmy with a 400 ci TH350 NP205 Dana 44/12 Bolt Detroit Locker 4:10... I forgot, I ran 33's BF Goodrich Mud Terrain's on it.

Anyway, I'm trying to find a K5 diesel or a 1008. I have money to spend and It really has to be a diesel! Thanks.

e-mail if you know of any for sale.

Hello There

Hey, Im Brennan im a senior in high school from Nor Cal. I have a '73 k5 with a 4 inch pro comp lift and 35" mud terrains. It still mostly stock with a sm465, 1/2 ton axels, and 350. I put on an edelbrock intake and 650cfm carb as well as an electric fan. I am just finishing my half doors and roll cage. I plan on wheeling it to death, then fix it all up and do it again.

This is me

Hey, I'm Dave. Just yer average Kentucky gearhead buildin custom vehicles. I got just an average everyday 87 K-5 with a few exceptions. Amazing how much a Weiand Stealth Intake, 750 Edelbrock, headers, and a custom exaust will beef the beast up. In time theres a lot I wanna play with. My plans are to set the truck up as a workable show truck. Till she gets done I'll run her through my woods, but after completion she'll just be a road truck or haul my trailer or camper. Dunno what else to say. So I'm out

A big hello to everyone on here, my name is Avery and I'm a Jr. in High School @ Edison High in sunny Fresno, Ca smack dab in the middle of the state.
My mind is a sponge for K5's and there's definately a lot of liquid around here!
I can't wait to start soaking it all up.

nice to meet you

Didn't actually expect a reply to my introduction but it appriciated. When it comes to cars, theres very little I can't do. Every once in a while I run into a slight problem that floors me.......like my current wiring problem. I was in a rush earlier so i didn't list all the little things I've done to this beast. I described the motor, but I have also swapped a few little parts from an 89 blazer such as the steering wheel speakers and rear ashtrays. The speakers and ashtrays are mounts in boxes I built to fit right where I wanted. I took out the origional console and swapped it for a van console from K-mart, dash mounted tach, dash mounted Electric Brake. I'm in the process of painting a low profile spoiler that came off of my t-bird to slap on the cap. And just for kicks I threw a set of pins on the hood. I have a indian head hood ornate off of a 53 pontiac that i will be molding into the hood to honor my Native heritage. Weather is bad right now, but as soon as I get a good clear day with good lighting I'll take some pix. And of course you'll have to ignore the few spots of cancer. They will be taken care of in spring. Glad to be a member here and hope to be able to lend some advice myself.

1976 K-5 in Fort Collins

Evening all, name here is John in Fort Collins (CO). My rig is a 1976 K5 Jimmy that I've owned since fall 1985. It's had a bit of work done on it but I'm thinking about starting round 2 and will be looking for folks with a lot more experience at this game than I've had to give me some of their thoughts. Would like to either go with a big block or one of the new crate small blocks with fuel injection. Looking to up HP to 350-400 range or maybe a bit more. Currently a pretty docile 275-300. Currently running a PAW 350-4 bolt with a 650 Carter and 2.5 inch Skyjacker all spring lift. Also interested in transmission options. Transmission is 350 Turbo with an RV shift kit with a part-time kit installed in the 203 transfer case. My only off-roading to speak of comes during hunting season with some plain Jane trail driving at other times....otherwise the rig is mostly street driven. Don't envision much change here. So that's it for starters.
