Introductions & Greetings

What's going on out here in K5 country ? My name is Caleb, I live in Tooele, Utah. I have an 86 Jimmy. It has been stock for about 3 years, ever since i owned it, but I broke the frame and now it is under construction. My rear suspension is done with a shackle flip in the rear with a 63" 2 leaf spring pack, the front has 52's. I have a 60/14 bolt combo under it and am working on the drive train. Cadillac 472/th400/203205 doubler is what i'm working on. Hoping to post up my progress on it an what not.

Hi all,
I'm medically retired from the military. Bought myself a 1985 GMC full size Jimmy Sierra Classic and I'm going to build as I want. This will take some time as I have to hire the work done.
Jim
(Yes, my name IS Jimmy)

Greetings from San Francisco

Hi, I just bought a 83 Blazer diesel and love the truck. It feels and sounds like a semi! Anyone else here with a diesel from the Bay Area?

TCM from Arkansas

Excellent site!! I've been visiting for quite awhile now and finally decided to join. I'm not a hard core 4 wheeler, but won't be without one either. My daily driver is a 72 Blazer, 350/350 that I've owned for about 15 years, backup is a 78 C20 Crewcab, 396/400, that I use for towing and hauling firewood. Neithers' really nice, but both are solid vehicles...I get an offer on the Blazer about twice a month. Again, excellent site and thanks for having me. TCM

Howdy,
Been wheelin' for a while, but just joined this site. I may be the odd man out around here, as I have a longbed pickup, but you'd be surprised the places it'll go even with the longer wheelbase. I'm currently getting the rig ready to go down to Mexico next month to tool around and observe the Baja 1000. Should be a good time.

Hello from Chattanooga!

I drive a Jeep J-10 but it has been modified with a TH400/Dana 300 combo. I am lurking on here for more full-size parts like axles, tires, doublers, etc. Lots of good tech here too. See ya!

blazerbuilder84

My ex-wife surprised me with an 84 K5 Blazer  ,after we got back together. It has a big block 454, bored and warmed up to a 468 ci monster. It also has a stock 700r4  and stock 10 bolt boat anchors . I am in the process of gathering some new parts for the beast. One of my buddies has a new th400 and Dana 44/14 bolt axles. (Nebraska is flat :( ) Anyway, the truck is 95% rust free, with no body damage. It is black with red insert, and maroon interior. When I am done with it, I would like to have the 52 inch rear spring conversion with shackle flip, full top conversion, quick disconnect door pins, and what ever else cool that shows up on this awesome web site . Since there are no trails available in this area, I suppose I should make it look cool. I have many ideas for paint schemes. It won't be a trailer queen, and it more than likely won't win any competitions of any sort, it will still be fun to mess around in. It's also a fantastic way to spend quality time with my three little boys. They wish, more than anything, that I had the Blazer back on the street. They want to have fun. That's what it's all about, isn't it?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has several Saturdays of work ahead of me. I'm tired of not being able to drive mine. Once I get it put back together, I will be able to post some pictures of it.

From the sticks....way back in the sticks.

Hey yall, I am writing from Alaska. I am new to CK5. I have owned a few k20's and a couple K30s and finally got my first K5 a few months ago. It has been something I have wanted for awhile, and couldn't be happier. I grew up in a K5 and will keep this one until the day I die. It is an 84, black and white. And is a work in progress. If you want to know more about it, check out my profile. It is on its way to being one helluva truck.

Yup another learner

I guess I'm just a guy like yall looking for something in common to talk about. I currenly run a 78 blazer with a 496bbc, truck avenger 770, d60, corp 14, 4.88gears,lockers front and read with a turbo 400 and 205 case. I would like to some of vast knowledge from the group here and apply it to my problems. Any maybe help someone else also. :D

Hello All !!!!!

I would like to say hello to everyone in the CK5 community, nothing warms the heart more than knowing there are blazer, jimmy and C/K truck lovers out there in the world making a difference.

I'm currently working on my 86 FS Blazer, nothing fancy just a mild 3"lift, 35" BFG's, HT383 Vortec GM crate enginge (just dropped it last week) and topping it off with the Edelbrock Pro-Flo EFI system. Yup, it should snap a neck or two , maybe some parts.

Stay tunned for pictures and updates
