Hello to everyone

I just bought a '79 GMC Jimmy, it's stock, never wrecked, it has a 350 on it,
and the transmision it's manual 3 gears only, I'll post pics of it as soon as I have it, it needs a little bit of TLC.
I do not know from where to start rebuilding it, any suggestion will be appreciated.
I lived in Cd. Juarez,Chih, just a cross the boarder of El Paso Tx.

Have a good one

Hello everyone

My name is Matt and I am a mislpaced Coloradan here in Kansas. I recently bought a 1990 Blazer after driving my Jeep Cherokee for 10 years. I plan on using this vehicle for fishing and camping in the Rockies. I hope there is enough room on the trail to Grizzly Lake by Buena Vista for the Blazer. I really need some info on the side slider and rear vent windows. Sealing trim and replacements. Any thoughts?

Matt

New guy

My name is Dennis I live in Weston, MA. I just bought a 1991 K5 from the original owner it has high mileage but was well taken care of. It was garaged it's whole life and is in immaculate condition. (i will post pics as soon as i take some). I haven't even had it a week and i'm already looking at lift kits and new tires. This site is great and has a ton of info, i plan on becoming a member it looks well worth it and have read only good things. Nice to meet everyone. - Dennis

My name is Dustin. Currently, I have a 90 C1500, but I need (want) 4wd bad, so I'm looking into getting either a 72-85 k5 or same vintage pickup. Thanks for all the help!

Cancer Doctor

Hey everyone,
James from Ft. Bragg. I am currently in Iraq. Will be back very soon. I will finally be doing the cancer treatment for my 1987 K5. It dosen't really have any mods right now but moneyu is comming soon with taxes. Right now she has a beefed up TH 700r4, 31 MT's, a soft top, and some tinted windows. There are a couple other things but nothing really. I am about to attempt the cargo floor replacement in this website. The truck is totally gutted right now but can still be driven when needed. I have the stock gears in it and am considering putting the ARB Airlockers in the front and rear as it will still be my 14 mile a day driver.I'm not going into detail about the future plans right now as they change about as much as my underwear. HA She will be a beast someday with really big tires and a drivetrain with the Empire State Building in the headlights at some point should about sum it up. HA I'm always open to ideas on where to start. I was thinking the driveline and gears should be my startuing point after the rust issue. I guess that's all for now. Keep on wheelin.

Please Help Chevy Blazer Owners

 Hello Blazer owners I am a new Blazer owner just bought my first 4 months ago. Got a 2000 Chevy Blazer ( my dream vehicle).I have always wanted one. Well I am having troubles and no one seems to know what could be causing it. I have no heat. and with living in PA with temps lately in the 20's everyday it gets pretty chilly without a heater. It is odd had heat till Thanksgiving day, went out and started the truck and just didn't seem to warm up. I thought might be due to that it was only 11 degrees out, the next week had heat back but it was warmer too.
Now this past week i barely have any you can feel it there, but just no where near as warm as should be or was. Now I have had talked to about 10 different mechanics including my dad who has worked on Chevy's for 40 yrs. They all seem to be lost. Seems to be blowing both cold and luke warm air. We have changed the thermostat. The fluids are full the radiator is full. The hises that go into the heater core are warm to touch, but i was told you should not be able to sit there and hold them and you can.
Please Help!!!

Hi guys. My name is Dave and I just bought a 88 3/4ton Suburban. It has 350, 700r4 ( I believe), 208. It also haas a 4" lift on it ( I have no clue to what make) I bought it for $500 brought it home and threw my 35x15.50 Super Swamper SXs on it. Living in South Jersey I really don't need a bunch of articulation , so the 4" is fine for now. Now when I bought the truck there was a few obvious problems with it. The first one I noticed was a noise that almost sounded like a lower end knock but it didn't go along with the engine RPMs, plus it would go away when you put it into any gear, and would also go away once the truck warmed up. So I decided to believe that it is probably the Torque coverter and have yet to mess with it. It also would get a loud bang from the back rear when going around bends or hitting unlevel asphault. I thought it was the rear on its way out but was hoping that maybe it was a locker of some sort. Thought A was the correst one, the spiders welded them selves to the crosspins and wallowed out the wholes they rest in and eventually onne shot through the diff cover. This problem is almost fixed. And the other ones I got are small and easy such as fuel gauge being pegged, both upper ball joints, and tune up. All in all though I thought it was a good deal for a truck with a solid body already lifted and a 350 in it with 60lbs of oil pressure cold and 40 when hot. well anyways I'll try to get some picks up soon for you all to see the conversionvan roof that was put on it.

Hello

My name is Scott. I am from southwest Louisiana. I have a 90 k5. Is is a 6.2 with 700r4. Front has 6 inch rancho springs with blocks in rear. It has 35's on it. The rest is factory. So far the injector pump has been rebuilt and so has the transmission. Once I get some other items fixed up, I will start trying to do some other upgrades. I am looking forward to using the knowledge on this site to get my Blazer fixed up like I want it to be.

Hey all, my names Erik and i live in Northern Virginia. Sadley not a blazer owner yet, but im currently testing the water and seeing about getting one. Im a chevy tech, have 1 and a half camaros lol and know my way around cars just fine, but trucks are a bit new to me. Two things came together to get me interested in a K5, my brother bought a 1973 Bronco, and im going to be transferring to Virginia Tech in blacksburg in the mountains, and the camaro just aint gonna cut it. but im used to having T-tops, and both my siblings have convertable trucks (my sis has a 88 4 runner) so the 69-75 blazer seemed a natural choice. so im here lookin for technical advice, and to bounce around some ideas with the guys who know what their doing.

My Blazer is a K5 1983 it is suposed to have a 4.3 straight 6 but that went bang on me so here is the new spec

350 Ci V8 with racing cams and carb from a racing Camaro about 350-400 bhp

Hooker headers and custom side pipes
3" or 6" lift (not sure done before I got it and there are no other K5's on the island to compare to)

The sound is just awe inspiring

Welcome Richard,
You'll have to post some images of your favorite "muddin hole". I'm anxious to see how the Scots play.
