It has a tbi 350,with a new radiator, super 40 flowmaster, rebuilt 700r4 with heavy duty converter, shift kit,and some corvette internals, rebuilt transfer case (208).Rebuilt front and rear axles.Front has new bearings, seals.Rear has new ring & pinion,Eaton posi,Superior 30 spline shafts, bearings, and seals.New 33" Bfg a/t's ,new brakes, shocks. No rust, the truck has Richmond 3.73's and it has a rancho lift with what appears to be 2-1/2 in blocks and a add a leaf which i believe brings it close to a 3 to 4 in lift.

Hello Everyone

My name is Robert, gald to be an offical member of the site. I am currently in the process of building an 83 k-5 with a 74 windshield spotwelded in place of the old one. I have the suspension to tackle next, a set of Deaver long travel springs(front&rear) will be using an ORD shackel flip on the rear with Blisten 7100 shocks. Thinking about using the 700r4 & 241 with the 44 front & 12Bolt rear, could go with the 60 front and 14 bolt rear with the 400 & 205. I will look for other member opions on that part of the build-up. The truck will see about 70% of it's time on the street so the small 1/2 ton stuff will be lighter with gas prices sure to keep rising. I am going to run 40's with aluminum wheels. Thanks for over looking any dumb questions that I may ask for the thousandth time, do not get to check the site very often. Still wondering why my last post looked different than everyone else that put up a post?

Hello from Indiana

My name is Brian, aka BPatrick, and I own a 1990 full size blazer. I used to do the project trucks for Sports Truck Accessory Digest with a friend and really love the blazers. I'm getting back into this again after a 4 year break. I have a Rancho 4" lift on the truck with steering stabalizers and kicker shocks. BF Goodrich 35x12.50x15's and I'm planning on putting them on 15x10 Weld Stonecrusher rims. I haven't purchased them yet as I have a few questions for you all. Best tops made me a top for it and the truck was in great shape, interior when I bought it. I have had all new GM metal put on and new floors put in so the truck now is all new for body work. I just had it painted black clearcoat and it looks great with the clean body work. I'm excited to finish the project and I'm running into some problems finding the parts I am looking for. I look forward to talking and learning from all of you.

Hey Everybody,
My dad has owned an old 75 K5 since long before I was around. I've been wanting to restore it, but never got around to it. Now that I got some cash I want to make it a nice rig for off roading. It needs a lot of TLC, and this site is gonna help me out a ton. Thinkin of a lift, gears, and a good set of tires. I've been ridin ATV's for a while, and it's about time I get into the full size off roading scene. Hope to see you on the trail!:D

New Member from the Denver area

My name is Alex and I am joining in in the Denver Area. I have been surfing this website for 6 years now and I know shame on me for not joining sooner. Anyways, my vehicle is an 83 K10 Silverado. It has a 350/400/205 combo driving 4.56'ed dana 60 and 14 bolt. I'm running countless other mods that I cant think of right now. Looking forward to being a member.

Hello, and I have no idea how to navigate through this site so please bear with me.

I have been looking endlessly for information about a fluctuating gas gauge on my 2000 Silverado and all I can find is that there is a known problem. I can not find any reference info regarding how or what to check anywhere???

I know that the fuel pump is in the tank and that the tank has to be dropped or the bed removed to gain access, but is there anywhere I can troubleshoot before going that route. I don't think it is a fuel pump problem since the truck runs fine it is just the gauge that acts up. Sometimes it reads empty when full, sometimes it reads accurate, and it seems to do these when ever it wants. Once I fill the tank full it will read empty and the warning light comes on then the gauge usually slowly creeps up until it reads full.

Anyone have any thought or direction I might take.

Thanks

I'm new here so I thought I'd post up and tell ya'll something about my truck. I pick it up a few months ago. Its an 84 K5 Blazer. Its my first one. I've always like these trucks but never found one in my price ran until recently. A buddy of mines employee had it. He got it from some guy that was broken down on the side of the road needing to get somewhere. Apparently it just died on him and my buddies employee just happened to be driving by and stopped to help. Well I guess the guy need to really get somewhere quick so they traded vechiles and this guy took home the K5 thinking that the coil pack had gone out of it. Well he replaced that and still couldn't get it to run so decided to sell it for what he had in it. Which was $350. This guy was a die hard ford guy and had no clue how to work on a chevy. All the plug wires where in the wrong location so I corrected that put a battery in and started it up. I get a few miles down the road and it dies on me. Thinking its out of gas and the gauge is reading wrong I send a buddy to fill up a gas can till I can get to a filling station. Put gas in it and head down the road and it dies again. I let it sit and cool off a bit and it starts right up, I get a bit farther down the road and same situation happens again. This leads me to believe that the fuel pump is no good in it. So I replace that and a broken axle shaft in the front and haven't had a lick of problem with it since. Its got some rust holes in it and needs some work but when I get the time it will be a good wheeler. But all in all for what I've got in it which is under $600 with a new set of 31's I think I got one hell of a deal.

Welcome to all new members!!!!!!!! Enjoy the site. There are many people here that are willing to help you out. You have found the best site for the K5'r on the internet.
