Greetings all, new user and new K5 owner here. Just bought a 88 K5, 6" suspension lift, 38 swampers, 4.88 gears and detroit lockers, 350 bored .30 and having a Monster SS transmission put in it as we speak. Pics to follow!
and make a build thread
. I'm hoping to turn my impulse purchase into a monster machine and i'm already learning from the threads on here! i would tell you more about my truck except i have no idea what i have other than what the seller and dmv emissions test place have told. Seller said it was a 1979 Chevy blazer, it runs and has a "k5" and cheyenne markings. I dont know enough about automotives to tell what kind of engine (SHoulda paid more attention when dad was yelling explitives at his old beast of a chevy) i did just watch an episode of xtreme 4x4 that was talking about 14bolt axles (hope i got that right). Anyway I'm an
Electrician so I'm sure with the right guidance i can go from a comic book nerd to a gear head in a few gruelling years...
I have 1974 Blazer just bought it 2 months ago. Great ride but not sure how to engage and disengage the 4 Wheel drive without grinding gears. I am looking for PDF of the owner's and maintenance manual. Any suggestions?
Thank you
Rob

the transmission is leaking pretty good. first thing is the smog system hopefully that will also get rid of the gasoline smell as well.
