Introductions & Greetings

That is what I figured! Probably a 5 post minimum to make sure I am not a spam bot. I am a lot of things, but not a bot.

Love to post pics but it won't allow me to either.

I'm back...

Well...after a long stint running around in a 1450 desert truck and w/o a blazer...I'm back with a "new to me" 74 Blazer. I'll post up some pix...I'm rebuilding a mall cruiser which was sitting on 40" boggers.

Id like to get my 5 post's if I could only post in other sections that would have been done by now. What a welcome. Look at this thread. U cant post in it. U need 5 post's to make your own thread, but u cant post here. Annoying as hell. Im not paying to join a site that I cant even test out first. Who pays first anyways? Thats a first and I dont like it.

New member here from Pullman WA. My rig is a 2003 Chevy 2500HD. I'm in the process of converting it from 2wd to 4wd. As it sits right now the t-case and front axle are in but its not drivable yet. Since I can't post image URLs you'll just have to wait for the build thread to see what it looks like.

Hi everyone my name is Pat, I'm 21 and I'm from Albuquerque NM, I have a 74 K5 with a 4" lift and 38.5" Boggers, Im always looking to improve it, Ive already cut out all the rust and painted it, I also have a 454 in it with a th400 and np205, I swapped the axles out for 3/4 tons and put 4.56 gears in it, one of my next ugrades will be lockers, then a whole list of other stuff but for now money is tight so this will have to do. Talk to you guys soon

New Guy From Oklahoma

Hey!

I've lurked here forever. Figured it was time to go legit. I'm also over at chevyk5blazer.com.

I live in Oklahoma City. My K5 is an '85, 350, 700r4 (although I have a SM465 to put in it), it has a 5" body lift, and 6" Rough Country lift, w/35s. I'm thinking of dropping it down to 2" in the springs, and moving the bump stops down some.

I like long walks on the beach, fire, shooting stuff, and eating bacon.

I am a machinist, and a Harley-Davidson engine and tranny builder. Been doing it since 1995 for a living. It keeps me off the streets.

My K5 is flat black, but I am pretty sure it wants to be camo.

So I need five posts so I can post pics, eh. Nobody here wants to see my franken-scout

Yes. And yes we do. Scouts are cool in their own right, made even better with a K5 chassis. Start a thread in "the garage" with the specs, then pad the post count a few times, then you can post pics linked from another site like photobucket or picasa. :waytogo:

new member looking for parts?

Hello, my name is Sean. I own a 75 K5, catolina blue and white. I have owned it since 1994. I am having trouble finding some parts. I.E.: HD trans brackets that go from the thick dust shield to the plates that go under the motor mounting brackets. I need the brackets and plates. Can anyone help?

Best regards,
Sean

Hi all my name is Justin and I live out in California, no I don't surf. However i do own a K5 and I love reading about all of the different things people do to their trucks. I'm in the process of restoring my 71 K5, what an eye opener. I have not done much of this type of work so everyday is a leaning experience, i'm not convinced that it's worth the headaches, but i'm sure when it's complete I will have a different stance on it. I hope to use this forum as a social networking tool to chat with other K5/c10 owners with experience in this field.

Hello From Eaton Co

I just bought a 1975 GMC Jimmy. It runs good but has a lot of rust. Been married only a year, but the wife let me get it anyway. PIcked it up for $750. I have always been into trailing and stuff, but never had a vehicle to do it, so now I guess this is my opportunity to fix my vehicle up the way I want to do so. I bought some 31.5" tires from a friend for $20. The first thing I'm looking to do since it runs and drives really well, is finding a soft top for the full convertible style, but haven't had any luck as I look. New/used panels without rust will be the next step, and then a small lift (2" or so), then a winch and bumper to accomodate the winch. Thats a pretty big list for now financially, so we'll just start there. Any ideas/thoughts/comments/advice?

Thanks

Nathan

I want to say Softopper makes the soft top for the K5s, full and 1/2 top.

Get to know Off Road Designs (ORD) and DIY4X. Both well known vendors here and make lots of quality parts for our trucks.

Spend some time around this site. Lots of good info and people here. All kinds of different builds have been well documented in the build thread section. Spending the $25 for a membership here will be the best $25 you spend on that truck. It'll give you access to pics and even more info that can't be accessed without a membership. Until then, have questions? Feel free to ask away in "the garage".
