New to the forum and K5 world
Well Good Morning Guys,
I Have always been crazy about the K5s and ran across a deal the other day I felt I had to jump on. So I talk the guy down to $500 from $1500 for an 84 K5 with a new Jasper 6.2 and a modern 700r4 (as I`m told) which is a 40LE60 if I`m not mistaken. Both engine and trans have less than 30k miles. One of the 3 previous owner wired it in and hacked the harness all up. So I would like to rewire it and take out the not so important stuff such as cruise control. However this is my first project an I am learning as I go and fortunately work with so knowledgeable folks. On top of that there is rust behind the front seats and rocker panels as well as the back of the bed. If anyone has any useful info or comments feel free to pass it along. Thank you for your time.

it was an old mans hunting rig, and the miles were hard ones, but the engine fires right up with no smoke at all. I'm excited to learn about diesels and especially about the jimmy
