Introductions & Greetings

Hey everyone, my name’s Glenn. I am doing a frame off restoration of a 91 K5 at the moment and have an 88 driver as well as an 84 parts unit. The frame of the 91 has an ls sitting in it with a 4l60 but not running yet, and the body is off and on a homemade frame to keep it stable while I replace the quarters after sandblast. I look forward to picking the brains of the knowledge base here as well as to share some of my own.

necessary? you mean required!!!!!
I will get a few, it has been a long road collecting parts and getting ready for the step I am finally at. Vehicles around here suffer from a great deal of rust, so I have been collecting what I need and fabricating what I couldn’t buy. This should be the last weekend of stripping far sand blasting and then the progress will be at a better pace. I was going to add a picture of the body as it sits (i am much better with cars than I am I.T.) but got frustrated with the attachment protocols. When I get tired of smashing sheet metal I will come back and post a couple.
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, and I hope to both benefit, and be beneficial to the group.

Hi y'all! As Minnie Pearl used to say "I'm just so proud to be here." Home is in South Texas but my roots are in West Texas. I fell in love with squarebodies when I was a kid, and I'm working on getting my Dad's old 1978 K5 Blazer back into the family. My sister also found "an old Chevy truck" abandoned on her property, so when she sends me pictures this summer I might have a project for myself or for sale.

I don’t spend a lot of time in corpus, but I did just find out about snapka’s a little while back. Sounds like an interesting place. We do plan on checking it out sometime.

Welcome Michael. plenty to learn thats for sure. Head on into the garage and look around.
