taking a year off this year, been going on 5 or more trips for the last couple years, time to take some time off for the important stuff.

That's the same picture you posted 3 months ago when you moved into that shop. Where is the work?

Yeah and it wasn't a rust bucket either. 15 years ago I used to see square bodies everywhere all in great rust free shape here in ca. Now it is fairly RARE to find one that doesnt have SOME rust here or is beat to $hit by some kid who watched too much Fall Guy. When i saw this thread i gotta admit as clean as it was I was bummed to see that they chopped it all up for what is a cool trail rig but what i think could of been made out of a rusty bodied truck. Then the loss would be minimal. Just my opinion of course its his to do what he pleases with.

we are not talking antiques here people. if you want a resto get a lmc catalog. you can build a whole truck out of one of thoose mags if you want a clean resto.funny thing is this truck was for sale on here for 2000 bucks and no one even hit on it. amazing how clean and rare theese parts are but no one buys a whole truck for 2k. it was a buddy of mines.here is the link.edit, this is his first for sale post, here is the second with the lowered price.

anyways i will prolly have another pic by weekend end but no progress :D

33 years old is about classic or "antique" status. LMC = chinese garbage. Buy some stuff from there and you'll see. You go pay someone to build one like you did with this one and tell me if it is of the same quality as GM originally did.

Yellow trucks have a hard time selling for some reason . Looks good on a trail rig though. Kind of like the Ultimate K10.

i wouldnt know, sheet metal just gets in the way thats why i will have none :D

thanks cucv2, been a long time monte (correct?)

I get it. It just seems a little sad to see some nice surviving sheetmetal get twisted and bent. It does seem to be the natural order of things though.

It has been a long time. We may be making a trip to Rausch this year. I can let you know when we head down there. :woot:
