I don't post pics of this often. But I bought this new in 2001. It was on the last truck load of xj's delivered to the dealer I worked at. I sent my wife down to the delivery lot to look at a silver limited. She called me back and said "they have a yellow one!"
First thing we bought together. Brought my dog and my oldest son home in it.
Well. The time came. Sold it to my fil. He said he will give it to my oldest son when he is 16. It only has 73k miles now. He doesn't drive much.
Here it is all cleaned up and ready for delivery. Seriously going to miss it.
On a lighter note.....I bought somthing else. It's over at my buddy's house right meow. There are pics of it in this thread already. I will post up pics when I go pick it up
Not sure. I spent my transmission money on this stuff.
The block still needs work. I need to drill and tap it for the turbo drain. Mock everything up and make all my turbo drain and pressure hoses. Figure out my oil cooler lines. Build a new engine harness for megasquirt.
The good thing is I can put it all together on the stand before hand.
I still need injectors, the megasquirt stuff and figure out a clutch
I threw the crank in to start mockup, check all my clearances. Verify the Piston height, Calculate the actual compression ratio, gap the rings....well I got the crank in. I couldn't get the floating pin locks in. I will have to youtube that. I've only done pressed pins before. But since I couldn't get them in, I slapped some external stuff on to stare at until I get those locks installed.
I haven't updated this in awhile.
I got the engine blueprinted. Drilled and tapped for the turbo press. And drain. I just need to pick up the core engine. To build my oil pan and stuff.
Got a new toy
