jeep stuff and now a volvo!

I'm giddy like a school girl. I have a few mods to do. The wife and kids need some grab handles. Hell, I need some grab handles to get in. Also needs a cb.

Later down the road (when it's paid off) I will high line it with some tube fenders.

This thread went from cheap to real expensive in a hurry

Damn, my wife got an 02 last July with 38,000 miles, I thought that was a score. I think you've got that beat! What year is it? 04-06 got the 6 speed, right?

It's an 05. First year of the 6spd. Which sucks because it pops out of reverse and needs the updated forks. Kind of a bummer.

I rebuild these all the time, in fact I just did one on Monday, so not a big deal. I just need to order up the parts.

Turns out, the radio is touch screen. Still can't figure out how to set the time, but I did get the presets set.

Awesome score! I would love to get me one like that.

Thanks.

So.....

So here is what I'm thinking. The 37s on the LJ Rub, and are too big for wheeling and I might actually feel bad about wheeling such a nice rig. I might just keep redrover (the xj' official name) and just wheel it as is. No fancy axles or suspension. Hack the fenders a bit more, some 33s, and weld the rear diff. Maybe continue the cheap azz build with stuff like cutting out the rockers for some 2"x6" rect. Stock and making a rear bumper....

I have 4.88s/bearings/carrier new in box for the front anyways. Just need $280 worth of gears and bearings for the rear.

Wait.. I know a guy that wants he front stinger bumper. I could sell it to get the money for the rear gears.

It just never ends:D

so, whom ever installed the p/a, the cb, roof lights, front kc lights....is a electrical genius. green wires for power, red for ground, im not sure what the black wires did, but they where there too. not only that, but they where 7 miles too long. so i gutted all the aftermarket wiring out. removed the sound box and the cb. i will be putting the cb back in and wired up descently.

also, not only was the firewall grommet hacked up with 3 holes, it wasnt even in. it was just kinda sitting there in front of the hole. wonder why i have 2" of water on the floor when it rains:dunno: again, genius

i feel much better about it. the left light on the stinger would flicker, then turn off (hit a bump) turn on. reeeallly annoying. turns out the ground wire was just sitting in the connector:doah:

i have been noticing that my low speed torque was lacking and my buddy comented on how gutless it was under 2000rpm. so i checked my fuel adaptives. they where all +12% and more. so i swapped in some plymouth breeze/cirrus "703" injectors. cleared the fuel adaptives. road tested it a bit with the scan tool hooked up. all the adaptives are about -3% now. much better.

so, i finally did it. i unbolted the winch....and removed the stinger.

then i got going on a new bumper. im going to recess the winch into the grill using a warn tj winchplate. i have some 3/16 plate that will act as the bumper mount and as a steering box reinforcement plate. there will be 6 bolts per side now holding the bumper on instead of 3 per. i need to make or buy some d ring mounts.

its going to be 2 1/2" further back than in the pic. i need to make some brackets for the facia so it doesnt flop around and crack. i made the template for the side plates with the bolt holes marked out. going over to a buddys tonight to cut and drill. i almost want to call in sick tomorow.

im selling the xd9000i i took off and installing my 9.5ti with some synthetic rope in its place
