I don't think I've ever seen a set of headers that actually had equal length tubes in person.

I know that they exist and I understand the concept, but there are a ton of headers without equal length tubes out there that work really well.
That's what I have thought. And I am at the point of getting some that work for the space that is available. I am thinking that I will pull the springs out, use some blocks to "simulate" full bump, and see what room I have. This should help me decide between center dump headers or ?

Now let’s talk 4-7 firing order reversal

Like an "LS"?

Gen I/II firing order - 18436572

Gen III+ firing order - 18726543

The downfall to the early firing order is that 5 and 7 fire consecutively and are right next to each other. It's both a vibration/harmonic issue and a heat issue. On a stock 160-200 hp 350, it's not a problem, but the revised firing order is better.

Youre welcome. More technical advancements caused by racers from the Gen 1 SBC platform :haha:

No progress, just a pic of some cool parts to show some dimension.
Side note, a buddy of mine has been checking this out, and even called me while looking at the ORD website. Maybe he will get hooked on building a 4x4 again.

While I still like the impractical idea if some longer tubes in a mid length header, those should let me have lots of options to get the crossover pipe done , and I should be able to use straight boots on the plug wires, with heat sleeves on the center 4.
