Gotta give him some beans, he didn’t drive it for a year
Not true. It has never sat for a year. There have been several short trips besides going over Corkscrew, but I haven't locked the hubs in over a year. Spent the day in the San Juans in 2wd low.

Does that mean I should consider a new MAP sensor?
It probably depends on how it runs. As I said, I haven't been pleased with the overall performance of this since going PF4. My inability to hear the exhaust leak at the collector sure screwed me. I had a couple of others tell me that they didn't hear a leak, then Bent heard it immediately, though this months after the engine went back together with TBI, then PF4.
I still had problems getting the idle to stop hunting a good bit in neutral. Now it seems more solid, but it still has only 15 miles of new learning on it now.
It was usable, but that's about it, until it fouled a spark plug on the last trip.
I was seriously considering swapping the 8.1 that my son found, except for all of the things that would have to change with it. :doah:

If yours runs fairly well, leave it. Unless you have a known good MAP sensor laying on the shelf. We apparently have two more extras after parting out vehicles.

My PF4 run's like a raped ape. Then again I don't play with those little small blocks........:D
:flipoff11: That's for picking on my little engine!! :haha:

It's kinda odd to me that the one truck that I have with the largest tires and axles, has the smallest engine.
But this is still the short block that was in the '72 K5 from @Bent77 .
