How about some tuning updates on the EFI?
I assume that you are looking for more details than what I posted earlier.
We were adjusting the AFR set points to see what results we could feel and hear. In this application, it spends a lot of time in the idle range. I had it at 13.4 in idle, and now it's down to 12.8 for more testing. Also dropped the idle speed to 650, 22* advanced at idle, advance curve starts at 700 rpm. The total timing is still held at 38*. The vacuum advance is set at 10* as the book says that it typically adds half of that number. This seems to be what we saw on the display. We are trying to get the timing and AFR to play well in OD and 1200-1300 rpm, but still be good in actual idle conditions, including slow crawling.
Currently the AFR set point in cruise is at 14.0. I had it at 13.8 for a while and we just tried to pull some more out and see what happens.
WOT is going to be tricky to find the best mixture as trying to feel how much is there in a truck that has this much slowing it down, is similar to comparing regular and caffeine-free Pepsi. It isn't quickly noticeable. We went from 12.0 to 13.0 and no glaring difference. More testing will help.
I should probably fill the tank back up soon and see how mileage goes, and recalibrate the speedometer.

Mileage is probably moot at this point

I’ve considered what my next changes will be, but I’m waiting for it to have fewer noticeable improvements each time I drive it

Did it change anything for that 12-1300 range?

We had improved it dramatically, but found out that we screwed up the off idle to where it would die easily bu just tapping the pedal quickly. So that got fixed with timing. Gotta see how it is now.

do you need to remember what you do ? or is there a go back button ? or each adjustment gets you a saved tune ?

Each adjustment is real time, it doesn't save it. You have to remember in order to go back. You can save tunes, but since the system learns, it will keep changing if necessary. You could use a notebook to remember where you were for some of it, but you may need to drive it some to let it learn. This would mainly apply to AFR set points. The timing control is instant results, but it could affect the fuel trim, and require a little bit of drive time.
I believe that you will mainly need to think in terms of what you would want out of the engine, and just translate that to which settings to play with. It is very easy to change stuff, watch it follow what you have commanded, and feel if there is an improvement or if you went backward.
I hope that I am making sense.

Cue the fail music from the trombone..
Didn't get as much done as I would have liked.
I got the plates for the rear bumper marked and a couple of holes drilled to match what was existing in the frame. Got more of the plan made, height to clear tailgate and how tight to the rear crossmember, where to cut slots for the 1"x3" flat bar to pass through and a basic idea for the sides. Then talked to my son while he put thermostats in his Dmax. Didn't go back to it since we want to get it back to John's work for some cutting time. He has done all of the work to it so far and is doing great!
He started out with a piece of 3"x6" tubing and did the taper and box for the license plate.

So I measured the top of the door handles

58" passenger and 57.5" driver.
on real 37s

explain that

Looks good so far! You going to build a spare tire carrier for it?
