The hood has small dimples sticking up, the tailgate has rust, but is pretty straight.
@skunked posted a goofy picture....
The driver is straight, but possibly warped....

The engine needs to come out and find the small coolant leak which I smell in the exhaust intermittently...

I want to try the 700R4 and doubler that I have, which will require a revamp of the exhaust. And I have other things that I want to change.... So I have a dastardly idea.....
I discussed it the other night while a friend and I embarrassed a waitress...

dastardly is always gooder

Please elaborate!

I have a '79 K5 chassis sitting with the auto and doubler mounted, shackle flip, steering box braces installed, EFI tank and lines. That would also make it easier to install longer springs, probably ORD.
I also have two '90 K5s here that could donate a body. One is my driver with working A/C and all.
I have thoughts of a truck that is friendlier to drive to trails, but not too clean to worry about. Plus a rear seat...

So that plan would mean pulling the axles and engine from Bruiser to use in the mash-up...

I'm a little partial to 90 K5's, and it's hard to argue with working AC sometimes. Whatever you do, I'm interested to see how it turns out! The bent 72 body is pretty iconic though, although I know the life cycle of a K5's body isn't forever when wheeled.

My son told me that he wants to keep the tailgate, no matter what happens. He wants to make a bench back out if it. And the hood will live on somehow... That's all I know for sure.
I could probably sell the windshield frame to someone back east.

It was a discussion we had prior to me selling it to him, that the life expectancy was short, but it would get him to Moab several times without destroying his other trucks

It was a sad day when Scott retired the General. Unfortunately the day does come

Is the body falling off? It seemed all together everytime i have seen it. It's a cool rig would hate to see it go but i understand the need for luxurys.
