JUMPPR's '75 Blazer-con build

I've had a shit ton of other projects going on this year. We bought a boat this summer so most of my weekends have been spent up at the lake. Now that it's starting to cool off and I'm done with most of my other projects I can get back to the K5. I really would like to have the frame sitting on rubber by the end of the year. If I can manage that I hope to be driving it by the summer.

Last night I went out in the garage and started getting everything a little better organized so I can work on it soon. This weekend is not going to be much work since I'll be by myself with both kids. Next weekend I have to build a fence. Then the first week of November is SEMA.

Got my hubs and knuckles all cleaned up. I also bought complete set of bearings and races. The ones in it don't look bad so I'm wondering if I should just repack and go. The ones I bought from Napa aren't a brand I've ever heard of. The ones I already had were Timken. What's your guys opinion?

I'm going to try and get it back together this weekend.

Did a little work this weekend. Got my lights cleaned up with the 3M headlight restoration kit and did a little assembly on the 60.

More pics please, showing caliper orientation in relation to the rest of the axle...

If I am seeing things right, they'll need moved...

Edit: maybe not, just noticed the dual bleeders...

I thought the exact same looking at the pinion in the back ground then saw the dual bleeders. Never seen them before. Must be a money saver so they only have to make one caliper instead of a left and right casting.

These are RuffStuff calipers. Thanks for the sharp eyes though!

Last year I lost my job. I’ve been looking for work during that time and haven’t done much work to the Blazer.
I did decide that the amount of frame repair needed and rust on the body wasn’t worth the effort. A friend of mine sold me his K5 and I’ve been slowly putting it together instead. I still have plans to do the LS swap with it though.

This one already has 1-ton axles and disc brakes. We swapped the lift springs for 56/52’s and my next project is going to be making some shock towers.

I was originally planning to use the 3rd row seats out of my Tahoe for the Blazer but today my neighbor tossed a perfectly good leather set out on the trash pile so now I have an extra set.

Sold the old 350 this weekend. Once it’s out of the way I’ll get the transmission out of the way and start getting it all cleaned up for the LS.
