weather is looking really nice

oh hell yeah I've been checking every day on my phone, as soon as Friday weather was forecasted.

anyone else bringing firewood?
I have some good wood ill bring. Maybe enough for both nights? im a little shy on kindling.
Im going to bring 2 qts of ps fluid, 5 qts atf, some oil and rtv. anyone have carb cleaner or something to get a bead on a blown tire?

I'll bring a nice stack of wood too, it's amazing how much we go through. I also have an axe so we can split wood for kindling
and I have a can of ether packed in case we need to set a tire back on it's bead![]()
Ok great. Im bringing a cutoff wheel, sawzall I think and a lot of tools. Just trying to figure out what I need.
My impact will be the only power tool I have. Bunch of hand tools, spare parts, straps, tire plugs, come along, torch, fluids, fire extinguisher, compressor etc. My truck box is finally mounted correctly so I can start loading that up.
is that Rubicon Springs campground area? Do you have to swim? Just considering equipment needed![]()

No, you can hike around. It's not at Rubicon Springs. This is at Buck Island Lake, which is the half way point between Loon and the Tahoe side of the trail. I've never camped at Rubicon Springs because it's so close to the end of the trail. There's EXCELLENT swimming there though, with a rope swing and whatnot. The guy that oversees the camp is great, and has tools and a generator if you need to do something. Both times I've done the trail I had to spend my time repairing my truck instead of playing with everyone else in the water.![]()
Yes, that's right.
