June Rubicon Trip (more pics)

Awesome! I'm so pumped for this trip, can't wait to wheel with some k5s! Skunked I'm not too sure on time yet, we will be staying Thursday night in browns valley to cut a little off the trip there. How many rigs are going total in our group? Its me and a Toyota

I think we'll be ready and on the road by 9 so that puts us in Georgetown a little after 10? I'll PM my cell number so you have it.

Hey would you be able to get the tie rod ends if i pay for them? Its going to be rough getting through the bottle neck at commute time so it may take me longer than expected to get up there. Ill leave at the crack of dawn though.

yeah I can pick them up. Just let me know.....

I think im going to pass on the tie rod ends. I have some concerns about it rotating becuase of the angle my ram is at.

If there is any issue during the weekend, I have 3 in my toolbox now. :waytogo: I had to get out of my garage, the more I look around, the more I want to pack. I wanna put all my power tools and air tools in the box too. I noticed there's way too many U-bolts in the box, but you know "day-before" rule right? If it's in there, don't take it out otherwise you'll definitely need it later. :deal: I'm glad there's 4 GMs in the bunch :waytogo:

Hell yeah your the man! thanks!

I could totally fill a battleship with crap id like to have around lol. yeah I mentioned wheeling with chevys is the way to go. if we all bring a little something we have our bases covered!

I have work tomorrow and im thinking I should go out and do some stuff right now on the truck. I think im just worrying too much. I need to make a bracket to support the battery tomorrow at work, put a missing bolt in the t case support, bolt the 40s on, possibly trim a little tiny bit on the rear fender, bungee cord my overflow tank in lol and check the oil in the tcase and im ready. Should be do able tomorrow. id like to load the truck up on the trailer too but we'll see about that.

I have most of my crap packed but not in the truck yet. Go go go!!

Boy I'll say, lots of last minute little stuff kills. Just make sure everything is tight. Rubicon shakedown run, uhhh man lol. Do you already have time/history with the drivetrain?

I totally agree with you on the comfort of having 4 other GMs going! I feel like I Dont have enough or all the spare stuff I may need but together I think we have just about everything. Brings piece of mind

No doubt!. You get my PM? I think we'll be on the road by 8am, probably earlier.

Yeah it sure does. Im going to try to escape from work as early as possible to deal with some of it. Ive been wheeling once with it lol. Gotta start somewhere. The rubicon isnt terribly difficult, just a long trail so i should be okay. I burned a 1/4 tank the other night and it did great and the drivetrain seems solid. The motor is pretty solid, it has a lot of new parts and battery/ alternator. The tranny is good except it slams into gear but its never caused a problem. The tcase whines a lot which might be due to low oil, which ill check today but its also chain drive which makes more noise.

Im pretty confident i wont have any issues, just need to square some little things away before it goes on the trailer.

Yeah there should be tons of photos!

I have to be careful with caffeine, gives me headaches.

I'm bringing some cooling system parts cause my truck ran a little warm the other day. Would love to pull the condenser out too. I should be good to go.

never had one :dunno:

There not bad!

Sounds good. I always keep a jug of water lol. I have to get strong doses of caffeine to keep the headaches away.
