June Rubicon Trip (more pics)

lol
following on the map is tough, there are spots where the canopy covers everything. The trail up to Buck Island is easy enough to follow but after that the trail has lighter usage. :doah:

was fun remembering :D

man i wanna go play around in that area someday. i doubt i could run much of the trail without trashing my suburban hough.

We had a few people comment on the "full size" group going through. The funny looks we got lol. All we kept thinking was "full size? I wanna see a Burb get through here"

I survived with a small scratch, but there's no Efing way a Burb would get through without major body modifications. :D

Yeah if gatekeeper wasn't there you could do the first 4 miles or so. Thus the name gatekeeper.

Being that my truck had big tires I avoided a lot of damage but even adding another 2 feet of wheelbase would have been triple the damage of what I ended up with. There's just too many spots where you are literally driving straight into a tree and a foot from hitting it you crank the wheel to narrowly miss the tree behind you.

If you ever want to go I have a passenger seat open

Haha yeah I know I got some strange looks and a couple hell yeahs. I thought it was funny at one point when I was following a jeep and this guy's girlfriend took some pictures of my truck as we were going down the trail. I could tell she was asking him about it lol.

Yeah, getting my rig through the rubicon ain't happening. If I were to wreck it, body damage wouldn't be such a big deal then maybe it'd be fun to try. But that's not a goal of mine haha! I guess I could build a K5 for a trail rig when I'm done with the suburban. Hmm...

I was on the trail one time when a rental Jeep tour came through, which was being filmed by a French TV program, and they interviewed me as to why I would drive a full size instead of a Jeep. It was kind of funny - and they couldn't believe you could take a full-size through there.

I think you could get a suburban through there no problem. Gate Keeper would be a bit difficult, and so would the bottom of Cadillac Hill, as you'd have to thread the needle through those small trees. But otherwise I think it wouldn't be so bad. I think the biggest issue would be making sure you had a good rear bumper to take the hit on departure angle.

I really like this song but know very few of it's words lol. Great Japanese band. Youtube doesn't seem to recognize it either :D
