K10 Back-half Revamp! **posted wheelin' pics**

Neat stuff.

How soft are the springs while driving? (or has that not happened yet?)

I dont know what degree ramp that is.Backing up it wouldnt have done anything for us being that there is no weight in the rear.

Those springs are way soft.Soften up the front to match and he should have no problem getting into the 900s :pimp:

I'm reminded of way back in the day ('01 or so) when someone on here put looong springs on their K5 and it was so soft they'd lift a wheel just turning on the road. Crazy, dangerous, but still hilarious.

I haven't made it up to highway speeds but so far everything under 35mph or so is fine and that's without any shocks on yet.

I believe it was shawn (supersize75k5) in his green blazer...there's a movie of it floating around somewhere.

There was a video around before he showed up.So Cal guy I think and it was orange. The guys name is on the tip of my tongue  It was a video of him doin it over and over makin a left turn onto a street.

Sway bar hooked up in front and soft springs out back :D

I like ramps...

Whats my score :D

Yup. That's the one. I remember being amazed at how soft it was and the concept of longer springs and not just taller springs blew my mind.
He had a wheeling video playing in some moguls and whoop de doos flexing on them. Thing just FLEXED with no resistance and effort.

Then there was the guy who made buggy springs out of a 6" ProComp pack. Never did hear how that turned out.

Must be a 20 degree because I think he could hit 900 once the front and rear are dialed? What are you sayin

Thats not barley 800.Maybe you should take it back to the shop that built it and have em tweak it a bit more for ya.

:haha:

:haha:

the black truck is clarkjw24 he has 64s in the rear and 56s up front.20 degree ramps are standard.

the shocks bottom out in the rear of my truck with 18 inches of treavel.it has about 5 inches of up and 13 inches down.the front doesnt do d#ck...yet :D i never scored the front but the rear is just barley in the 800s

Interesting link. Also interesting that the Blazers they tested got the highest scores, by far, of all the vehicles listed there.

So, what's a good score to get on the ramp? According to the calculator on there, I'd guess that I'm getting a score something around 830.

The longer your WB the further you have to go up the ramp to get a similar score compared to someone with a shorter WB so yeah if a blazer and a long bed truck went to the same spot the blazer would get a higher score since it's WB is shorter...

Scores don't mean anything if you can't wheel it but it's a fun controlled way to see how far you can push your rig... and in our case it's a good way to figure out how far everything is going to compress/droop so you can figure out the optimum place to mount shocks, bump stops and limiting straps.
As you know if you just toss them on you could be hurting yourself if your shocks bottom out long before your suspension is out of travel or vise-versa if your straps are too long you could over-extend your suspension before you get to the straps.
So what's a good score to get? 900ish is pretty sweet IMO. :pimp:

Wow, did those babies flatten out.Now you need the same set in the front.Keep up the good work. I'm glad to see your starting to go to a different type of wheeling. I don't think I could do that sand stuff as much as you.

I'm still doing the sand... it'll just be a better ride now :)

But the sand is going to have to wait... I want to hit some trails on the next couple trips.

I think I'm going to just stick with the tried and true 52's up front for now... eventually I'd love to do coil-overs up front (I keep seeing ORD's kit pop up) but for the here and now 52's will work great compared to my current setup.

So does this mean your doing the 52's next with a D60, right??:eek1::D
I've got all the 52's you can choose from and I'm sure you can decide on one of the D60 I have.
