K10: Built HP60/241-205 Doubler/tons of tube

A good package showed up at the shop today. Should be fun to try and stuff these in here, they're pretty big.

I had a bench once upon a time but the last year or two I ran these...

Yeah should be a big improvement. They're really comfy. The main thing I'm concerned about right now is head room. It's going to be close but I think it'll be fine. I'm going to kick them back just a smidgen which should help.

Your gonna cross brace the interior cage b pillars right?

After you weld in the seat belt bar?

Seats look sweet. You can always go major floor surgery if you need to lower em a touch. :D

Also you will be amazed how much room there is without a dash. I actually started sliding my seat forward of where I usually had it when I eliminated the dash

You even got the piping on the seats to match your blue color. Sick! :waytogo: I agree that they will be more comfortable and give more headroom if you tilt them back a few degrees. What kind of harness are you running?

with the cross on the exterior hoop just inches behind the cab I wasn't planning on crossing the interior. Just a seat belt bar.
I thought about floor surgery but obviously I'd like to avoid it if possible.

Pro armor. They're on the way.

I would join that inside b pillar to the outside b pillar in more than those 2 places then.

I think you would be fine in a mild roll but in a harder roll I don't think those 2 little tubes will be able to take the force

Cage is coming out great

Are those regular height seats? how tall are you?

vulcan caulk works pretty good to seal holes

I hear ya'. Let me see what I can come up with.
What about just some decent size tube gussets in the corner going from those B pillar legs to the tube running across the top back of the cab?

My Pro-Armor harnesses came in today. I'm incredibly happy with the price and quality. For other recreational wheelers out there if you're thinking of harnesses look at these.

Very nice. Little pockets on them too??

Yeah one is like a little mesh net and the other is intended for a cell phone.

So I'm kinda wiped out after getting back in town this afternoon but after dinner I went out in the garage and played with some tube to get an idea of what I'm going to do to get these seats and harnesses mounted. I'm really liking this setup right now.
I'm going to bend the front leg down just at the edge of the seat to gain a little more clearance for getting in and out. If anyone complains then they get the boot, it's not a grocery getter and I think this is going to be the best setup for mounting the seats and tying the A/B pillar legs together down low in this direction.

Been working on the seat mounts. I'm waiting on some seat tabs then I'll make final width adjustments to the straight tubes but it's all really close right now. The front tabs will go forward from the tube and the back tabs will go backwards from the tube.
This lets the seat kind of drop down over the tubes and gained us a smidgen more head room.

Hey those come out pretty good. When you trip on those bars and fall out your truck Ill just give you the "I told you so look" while laughing hysterically:)

if that bar says pass, does the other one say fail? :thumb:

thats why you have to swing off the top bars like its a jungle gym. just keep your feet dangling.

Sometimes to do stuff right you have to give up a little comfort. It's really not that bad.

Why yes, yes it does. :D

nice choice on the seats, the piping really sets em off nice..

That would help quite a bit, really just fit as much as you can fit in there. With it tied in to the bed b pillar some longer tube gussets might be plenty.

I know your kind of limited it being a pickup and your not a small guy.

The seat mounts look great

:doah:I do the same thing to my sided parts.

Coworker of mine says that to me, "I don't want to get into the truck if the part says 'FAIL' on it." The Sharpie bled through the primer and I hadn't yet finished painting the bumper, think it was.

I just walked him to the other side that said "DRIVER" and waited. After a bit, the light bulb came on in his head. Phew.

And OBVIOUSLY the other side wouldn't say "fail" It would be the crushed pile of booger-weld on the floor that would say "fail" :haha:
