K10: Built HP60/241-205 Doubler/tons of tube

New dash? Diy4x maybe? That would be awesome.

Custom dash and room for some cage work.

O man that's a big ol mess. Should look really nice when done. So, what was holding it to the firewall under the windshield? Tacs or bolts?

It looks like it shared the lower window track or something. I just cut it out.

It felt good to cut all that stuff out huh? I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

It felt even better to start gutting all the wiring out tonight. I didn't snap a pic but I will once I get it finished tomorrow after work. There's SO MUCH wiring that isn't needed when you get it back down to basics.
I'm basically gutting everything inside except for the column wiring so the wipers/signals/ignition still work.

Finished pulling wiring tonight...

So jealous. I'm doing new gauges and the rat's nest of original-but-unused wires coupled with various owner's modifications, plus the highly dysfunctional climate control means it's a mess under there. Yours is so clean... :D

But you stripped out the parking brake?

It's never worked. I'm going to add a line lock for now. It's not a separate system like you're supposed to have but it'll work to keep the load off the parking brake lever in the transmission if I leave it on a hill or something.

Moved it inside tonight so I don't have to work outside in the wind/rain over the next month or so putting the injection and some tube work on.

You know its getting real when you put it in the garage!

I've put it in and out of the garage a few times in the past. It doesn't mean I'm starting a 5 year long build or anything. :D
I've just come to realize an hour or so pulling tires and pushing/shoving it into the garage one night makes me more motivated to work on it in the evenings after work.

Our shop didn't take last Monday off so we're taking the Friday after Thanksgiving off this week. So I'll have a nice 4 day weekend to knock some stuff out this coming week.

Love ur garage set up!!!:waytogo:

Thanks, I'm still living at home so I'm lucky my parents are cool with the whole deal. I pay a measly rent each month and I get free food and this part of the garage/car port beside the garage to the right. Pretty smoking deal IMO. :D
I finished my AS degree in manufacturing and during the last semester broke my ankle so I took this year off and am heading back to work on a bachelor's in business management so I'm soaking up the cheap rent while I can.

My dad and I knocked out a few things tonight. Finished gutting the interior, pulled out the rest of the insulation around the column and cut the top of the dash smooth with the firewall. I played around with some Duplicolor spray on bed-liner on a scrap piece of floor I cut out and I really like how it turned out so I'll spray everything once I'm done patching/smoothing the floor.

I got this cool little heater from chevysmithz71 a while back and have been holding onto it for when I reworked the interior. I can't seem to get the motor to turn over though, not sure if it's froze up or I'm doing it wrong.
Any ideas? It has 3 wires coming out of it so I was assuming it's probably a two speed? Really not sure but I'm going to figure something out because it fits perfect and is super simple with a manual control that changes where the air flows.

My neighbor down the street is in the middle of building a custom dash in his "jeep" (tube buggy with a jeep tub) and he told me to come by and get some ideas since he's a little ahead of me. I got some good ideas off of his build for what I want to do.
His brother works for a big truck body manufacturer locally and he scored these hinges from him so he gave me a couple since he had a bunch he wasn't going to use. Should come in handy for making panels flip out for serviceability.

Yes, its nice having a garage. I dont live at home anymore, and I do have an attached garage, but its only a 6ft door. Instant vert Sub. Luckly my parents have a nice 40x40 with 2 9ft tall doors and they let me use it for all that. And ours looks identical to that with all the various stuff scattered throughout, from my old 250A race 4wheeler to a gas powered remote control boat to stuff that I have no idea what it is but I bought it anyways.

And I would think that fan could be a multiple speed, in my thinking it would be a Ground, a 12vt ignition, and a "signal" type for controlling speed. I could be wrong though.

I installed some Stage 8 locking collector bolts tonight. Kind of a pain to remove all the old bolts and get these in and set so the tabs are all tight but it's done and shouldn't give me anymore grief for a long time. If you have problems with bolts coming loose on your exhaust look into these. Obviously not a new product but after the install I'd recommend them to anyone.

Started welding up the floor a little too. I worked until the flap wheel was dead and called it a night. I'll get this knocked out tomorrow after work and if things go smoothly I'll get it scuffed/wiped down and get the bed-liner going on.

It would be nice if they made those locking bolts for the top of the headers too. Mine have come loose several times before.
