K30 with a 6.2

Marty we both know you and I are the only ones looking that this tread.

On a side note my goal for tomorrow are 173 hp and 336 ft lbs at the wheels. This is what banks claimed. Should be about 240hp and 490 ft lbs at the engine.

I don't care if anyone else is looking at it or not. I still want to see pics.

Thanks for posting them by the way. Oh, and did you want that hood?

Martin

Unless I come down there some time. Have this thread moved to The Driveway. All of these additional sub forums are silly.

Hey I am looking at it too!

I would really like to get my NA 6.2 on a dyno, and then put it on the dyno when I swap in the banks.

But I want to do a bunch of work to the manifolds and stuff. I will have a 6.2 head sitting there so I am thinking about building my own headers that will work with the turbo.

You do agree that it would get a lot more traffic in The Driveway though, not?

Martin

forgot my phone today. I did get my buddy to take one pictures. I got it dynoed. went from 116 hp to 153 and from 232 ft/lbs to 350. Not huge gains in hp but the torque should really help. Boost is around 11-12 with it jumping to 15 one time when I had it the dyno simulating a load of 15000lbs on a 3% grade and I shifted back into 3rd. Less torque than my 454 had but about 50 more than my 383 has. Should work good for pulling. Those are at the wheels numbers pulling it in 4th. If someone wants to use my suggestions I would say to use the hy35 since I here it is smaller than this turbo. Mine takes until about 1500 before it really comes into the boost. Should be fine with the 4 speed. I will watch it going into summer and it may bet a cheapy ebay meth injection kit to cool it on long hills.

Looks like it will be about like a stock 12 valve 6bt. That should be more than enough for this pile.

Did you get an egt reading?

I plan on eventually switching out my turbo for an A team turbo.

They seem to work very well.

Course I did it the lazy way but it didn't cost me much.

I am about sick and tired of the NA 6.2 but I got work to do on Horton so I won't swap motors until this Feb

I will also say it has NEVER started as nice as it does now. Not sure if that is the new AC delco glow plugs or the fact that it has had all the fuel line replaced with pushloc hose up to the injection pump and it now has a holley red pump pulling off the switcher valve and pushing to the injection pump. It seriously starts in less than half a revolution.

The most epically awesome part of this is the hat for the manifold.

That's some redneck genius right there

it was at 1100 one time when we really had it loaded super hard.

Notice the center of the top is a little more bowed. Need to repaint it after running it though the parts washer.

I'm also following this thread, just haven't had much to say...other than it looks good to me. Function before beauty.

Did you want this thread in the Driveway? Just say the word and I'll move it there for you. :waytogo:

move it if you want.the air cleaner/hat wasn't my idea but it think it works good.

Moved for ya...

153hp and 350tq at the rear wheels is pretty damn good I think.
