K30 with a big block question?

Back to the original post, I don't think it's an odd ocurance, but I had an 88 v30 CC with a 454. The odd one though, and one that contradicts the chart in post #2, is my 81 k30 CC that came factory with a 292 i6/465/205.

That’s really odd! And cool too.

Huh. I must have missed that day in school that a 292 was "cool".

For a tractor guy I would have thought you'd like the idea of a torquey big straight 6 idling like a tractor. 292's are cool. I'm bummed the 292 Larry found cheap was utter garbage. He was going to stuff it in his K5 project for the freak out factor.

But really, in GM straight 6 land nothing is cooler than a full tilt Wayne head equipped 302 GMC 6. One of the guys in our Nomad Club had a '55 Nomad with that engine and it was just cool as hell.

Your right!!!

I like inline 6s where they belong. Tractors.

I contemplated the idea of building one long ago. After seeing the 4bbl intakes and headers and such you could get for em.
My buddy's brother had one in a 67 c10 with a custom exhaust made out of individual 1¼" pipes running out the side right in front of the driver side rear wheel. Sounded pretty cool lol. Amazingly that truck would get it. :burnout:

Did that have a 700r4 too?

I didn't even know that trans existed when I knew that truck lol.

Auto. I'm guessing th350. Only seen it around a few times running. He went through vehicles like I do lol. Sat in the yard for a long time at one point. No idea why. I was 14-15, somewhere in there at the time.

There is an 81-82 CC near me that was a Columbia Gas truck, supposedly 292, but does have 4-speed and 4.56 gears. It just sits there, rusting away more n more, and guy WILL NOT sell it. Has a 400 in it, guess knocks but runs. Been sitting for so long the paint on the hub caps faded away, looks like a baby moon almost.....

Actually what did become of it!?
I built a dope ass 292. Clifford cam and dual 2 barrel webers. Langdon manifolds, Propane pistons, nice ignition and all that mess.
That 292, th400, dana 300 4:1 in a cj7 with no lift and 38 maxxis creepy crawlers. 4" rear scratch on Toyota rears, and 3 link with fox 14" coilovers. 35 spline kingpin dana 44 with jk gears and a 5.13 detroit Ho72 63" wms.

Had my first kid and could not juggle all of it.
Parted out like most of my other love stories.

Only at ck5 a big block thread turns into a 292 thread.

Time to unsub.
