One of the first things we did to mine in the Green Camper Truck. Seems to work well for me.
To me that just looks like fuel additive deposits and a lot of mileage.Pulled the driver side plugs. Lots of crud on the insulators and ground straps. Is this the poor PCV system?
Copper, Platinum, or iridium ?

Thanks, I'm betting I can fit a nice Hydraulic pump in there.@BoondocK5 I am sure these came in trucks with Air Brakes, that bracket might be for the air brake compressor.
How many miles are on those?Pulled the driver side plugs. Lots of crud on the insulators and ground straps. Is this the poor PCV system?
Copper, Platinum, or iridium ?

I was looking at one here last week to do the same.I just want to say thanks to all of you who have contributed to this thread. I have been reading it for a couple weeks now. Such an amazing resource!
Here is my Project that you all are helping me with....
First, NOT a GM......It's better!!
1965 International Harvester Travelall Panel/Delivery
Will be doing a full GM swap!
8.1l , NV4500, 203/205 Doubler, 14 bolt full float rear, 10 bolt/D44 front, on 37's.
I have all the big parts, engine, axles, and I have an Allison 1000 (original plan) that will be selling to fund the NV4500.

Here's the medium-duty layout with an air compressor for air brakes.Question, for one of you guys that have worked on the Workhorse series.
Did these trucks ever come with Hydraulic pump, in place of the power steering pump?
I ask, because, I have a small bracket that bolts to the AC/PS, or, Alternator/PS, bracket. It looks like it would hold a Hydraulic pump.
I think I got the little bracket on the left. I'm going to use it for a Hydraulic pump, for my full Hydraulic steering...Here's the medium-duty layout with an air compressor for air brakes.

Some medium-duty and Workhorse units used a larger ZF power steering pump in place of the standard Saginaw style of the lighter duty trucks still using the same bracket on the left in the pic. Some used an even larger ZF pump but the bracket differed to match the pump. Shown on the right.

I think Larry tried to use the smaller of the two ZF pumps on one of his two trucks and if I remember right it interfered with the squarebody frame. But if the pump you have doesn't hang as low as the ZF unit does it could work.I think I got the little bracket on the left. I'm going to use it for a Hydraulic pump, for my full Hydraulic steering...

I’m not sure if he compressor is iron or aluminum but given the application I’m betting iron.Is that air compressor iron or aluminum?
It seems that would be a better solution than the yorks that aerate the oil into the air, but if it's iron, or too expensive, it kind of kills it for me. It also looks to be a lot deeper.
