Let the build begin in 5...4...3...2...

Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on it?

Not yet, but I soon will. I plan on getting one come tax return time. The other thing I have to do is put in a new ignition module and maybe a pickup coil. I have the parts, I just don't have the time or the energy to doink around with it right now.

Snuffy, I just called Hansers and asked about 99-06 GM front seat. I was surprised at their prices. He said from $50-$300 if you pull them. I was expecting more than that. I need new seats in my Burb, they are wore out bad.....I just thought I would let you know.

Damn.....that's a pretty good price. May have to look into that myself when the weather warms up a bit.......and I have some extra $$.

Well, not much of an update but.......

I just finished changing my ICM underneath the distributor cap and all of my idle issues, surging at light throttle and poor throttle response are gone, finito, vamoose. If you've never seen a fat guy lying on top of an engine calling it every name under the sun.....I would highly suggest you avoid said situation and go somewhere safe for a beer. My wife almost beened me with a wrench and closed the hood on me because I was so lovely to deal with.

My big ole' tummy has a perfect indentation of the hood latch and my knees look like railroad tracks. But the pain is worth it knowing that I have just solved a problem that has been dogging me for just under a year. :woot:

Onto more important issues..........as soon as my tax money gets here.....

I know that feeling, I'm at the point nowadays that I just disassemble anything in my way. Learned that working on ford econoline vans the last 3yrs or so. glad to hear its running man, one day my sub might drive again.

I went to the local junk yard Friday and picked up a nice center overhead console. The only problem is I didn't get the mounting bracket. I completely spaced it. So, later this week when I get off of work, I have to go back and drill out the rivets and grab that. After I clean it up and possibly paint it to match the interior, I can take my headliner down, re-glue it while it's down, cut the hole for the console and mount it up!

I will try to get some pics up later tonight.

nice, i always loved the overhead console in my suburban.

The console was an absolute impulse buy. I was at the junkyard for some needed end of the week therapy and I was just getting odds and ends like door lock rods and hopefully a steering wheel.

When I found it in a 90 Suburban they just pulled into the yard, I asked them how much and they came back with $15. I had to have it then. Hopefully when I go back on Friday and grab the bracket, I'll remember to take my steering wheel puller with me so I can grab the 4 spoke wheel I wanted. And if it's cheap enough, I'm going to snag the serpentine belt system too!

What color was the interior in that thing? I need a new cover for my rear A/C. Also which yard were you at? Sweet find on the console too, I wish mine had came with one.

I was out at Johnson's A1 all the way out at 65th? and Grand. It came out of a 1990 3/4 ton Sub with a grey interior. The front seats were already gone but the rest of the interior was still intact. I can't remember 100% if it had rear A/C or not.

If anything, there were 3 or 4 Sub's out there that did have rear A/C coverings so getting one would be easy but you'd probably have to dye it to match.

That might work if it has it, mine is light grey so I think any color gray or even black would work. Just not blue or maroon.

What's your work schedule like? I work overnights, 10pm to 8am Mon-Thurs. so I'm off Friday mornings at 8am. I'm planning on going over there this Friday so if you are free, we could meet up there. Otherwise, I could just grab that cover for you and we could do the exchange later next weekend if you wanted.

Just let me know.

I'm 8-5 M-F so that makes it tough to hit the yards but I might be able to this Friday. I'm going up north for a funeral on Wednesday and am planning on being back Friday. I'll let you know when I'll be back, I would really like to go out there and get some stuff. Do they let you drive back into the yard or do you have to walk? It would be nice to take a tool box instead of just carrying what you think you need.

Funny you should mention this. When I went there, I took some tools in with me since you have to walk it, (they won't let you drive in). Anyway, when I spotted the overhead console, I didn't have the right sockets. So I had to walk all the way back to my truck to get them.

I walk all the way back to the donor Sub and I don't have the right size socket then either. So off I go to the truck for my 1/4" drive 10mm socket. The only problem was, I didn't happen to have a 1/4" ratchet with it. Luckily I had an adapter so I could put it on the screwdriver handle. So 3 trips from my truck to the donor Sub and I finally got it out.

It was a fustercluck day for sure.

Yea, it never fails. You think you have everything you need...

The yard up in the Heights was walk in too but all I needed was a rear latch so I hauled about 30lbs of tools and luckily I had everything.

I'll send you a text Thursday and let you know the plan. We can hook your sub up to Winaldl too and take a look.

Well I think I just scored a rebuilt 14 bolt rear with 3.73's for $250. Local guy on CL is parting out his 84 3/4ton. I scored the grill and headlight bezels for $30 and he rebuilt the front and rear axles before he ran out of interest and time to finish the project.

So, I'm going to see if I can put a down payment on the rear axle tomorrow, (hopefully he will agree), and pay him the balance on Friday when I get paid so I can upgrade my running gear!
