Lifted crew cab dually. C to K conversion.

Sick K30 man, I planned on doing this swap until I found a 4x4. Still got all the 4wd brackets in my shop for one. I might have missed it, but what are you doing for tires/wheels?

sweet dually heaphy. i've been watching a clean 2wd with no motor or trans for a couple years wanting to do the same thing.

if it's not to late, you might consider air bag helpers for the rear to play with the height. usually empty you can get it to go up about 2" up or so. they will help with towing and if you like the look you can change the suspension, block or whatever, to match the height.

tell me what you think; 1979 crewcab, 6bt cummins 15 speed eaton fuller, rockwell 200, 2 ton front and rear, with 24.5 in wheels wrapped in continental rubber.

Im lookin at gettin the 35X10.5 Swamper SSR's. They would fit on the stock rim and I could get away with using a smaller spacer, much cheaper and can use actual hub studs. Considering the other truck I am building is completely ridiculous I figure I should probably keep this one a c-hair under the radar.

BFTank, thanks man. Your project sounds awesome.

Are you going to leave it a dually? Mine isn't a dually, but it did start life as a K30.

looks good brian, why a divorced 205 instead of a married 205 though?

The 2WD TH400 was fresh when I bought the truck. Rather than mess with it (i.e. rip apart for a new tailshaft) I figured i could find this T-case, mount it somewheres down the frame rail, get some shafts cut and balanced, stick it and kick it.

sweet vids ridin high, that's what i am thinking about. except minus all the lund accesory crap and the half sleeper. and no stacks in the bed, instead stretch it enough to put stacks between bed and cab. sorry heaph hijack off.

That truck is sweet, but wouldn't want to drive that all the time, shifting all the time like that sucks. With that much power, you could skip gears, but still alot of shifting. I'll stick with a 5-speed....

that is a good idea to go with a divorced case, would you be able to use a stock t-case crossmember or would you have to fab one up?

He will most certainly have to fab one. Been there done that.

Looks good Brian. Sort of familiar as well.

+1 is it done yet? Just read the entire build and wow! Its got black trim (yellow was on 77s and 75 gmc gentlemen jims, and has the 79 or 80 basemodel headlight chrome, could have been changed somewhere down the line though, but in all reality its still a BAMF truck.

And that 10 speed cummins is cool too!

suscribed...

I feel a lot better about doing my 2 to 4wd conversion....

Updates??? Saw an 80 2wd CC Dually for sale on C/L and it made me think of this thread.

Sweet project man! 2 sweet rigs eventually, by the way where are you on the blazer project? Haven't seen any action on the old girl in a while!:D
