linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

A little off topic, but what happened to the 4bt?

a friend called me up and said he had a friend looking for one, i sold it, the transmission, and transfercase for $4500, which was about $2000 more than i had into the whole blazer lol. while it was fun and different, it really wasnt for my style of driving, granted a compound setup wouldve helped. i'll probably have more of them later, had 6 or 7 from buying and parting out breadvans, but if i was going to do another cummins swap i have an ISB 4 cylinder and allison a1000 in a breadvan that has double the power and half the vibration haha

the girlfriend is gonna be home from school for a month starting today, so ive been working on the upstairs room so if she gets too bored she has somewhere to go to watch tv and we have a place to sleep without driving all 6 blocks back to my parents house. haha and it has a good view.

Want to sell those 317s? Me and a friend built a nice little SAS s10 blazer with a 5.3 and a 2001 Camaro SS cam. Looking for a little more motivation for it before it gets tuned again.

317s would lower the compression and probably make less power on a 5.3, id look for some 799s or 243s. i also have 2 2000 3/4 ton pickups that have the shitty iron heads that need some 317s anyway

Great looking project, and glad you're posting on here. Subscribed.

my dad just bought a 2.5 ton bumper jack so i made some brackets to lift up the rear end, then realised that the whole thing raises up, not just the arms, so it hits the floor before the axle goes all the way up. oops. but this is about where full droop will be, probably 2 inches back though.

started building the frame bracets for the links, i think 3/8 is going to be plenty thick... need to get some metal to start building the rear truss also.

hopefully have some better updates tonight.

What's your fuel tank plan? Are you ditching the factory tank and triangulating links or doing a 3 or 4 link with panhad bar? You've probably seen the tahoe/danali on pirate that was coilover'd front and rear (and recently rolled) but it looked well done and would be good to get ideas from.

On the "luxo-wheeler" theme, I've really enjoyed our '99 K2500 SAS as even with just the work truck package it's a decent interior and everything works and works well. Our '04 2500HD SAS takes that to a new level with a quiet interior that once again is kind of base level but really nice. I like being able to drive a long way somewhere, wheel the truck (or not) and drive it home comfortably. And it's hard to beat starting with a 6.0L/4L80 and 14FF rear in the truck already. The 261/263 T-case isn't terrible either. The simplicity of the older stuff is pretty awesome but so is talking to your wife on a road trip it turns out!

Sorry this is a little off topic but how do you like copart i have heard bad things but im interested in buying a parts car or even a replacement for a car i have
Thanks

I'm going to build my own fuel cell, I have seen that build on pirate, it's a little more mild than I'm going but very well built. Didn't know he rolled it though, going single triangulated rear.

My original plan was to do this to my 2000 2500HD actually, but then found this, unfortunately this only has a 4l65, haven't decided if I'm going to leave it or just upgrade now. As for listening to the wife... we have a couple years before that.... haha!
