linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

Been busy with other stuff, got back to this last night and worked for a couple hours. Front shock hoops and it could be a roller. The tears obviously can't go on until after the body. Got the transmission mount all cut out and mocked up too(not pictured).

I'm planning on making another skid plate behind the current one, probably just out of 1/4 though.

Steering:
I need to get some stuff ordered for the full hydro. Should I just order a surplus center double ended ram? Or spend a little more for the PSC? I think I'm going to order the artec ram mount. I wish I would have known I was going full hydro sooner so I could've ordered the whole artec truss and ram mount and steering arms and saved some money. But that's what happens when you never have a plan :)

Heading to Lincoln to get my 41.5 pitbull rockers right now. Will have pictures of at least one mounted before 3 am.

Because I'm to lazy mostly. Didn't really want to move the steering box and make the 3 link work with no bump steer

So why bother having a super cushy Cadillac, if you are going to have crappy steering that won't return to center???

If it's too terrible to drive I'll just sell it. Which is already the plan anyway haha

Couple pictures of the tires mounted and got the front shock hoops cut, i ended up plating the top of the frame under the shock hoops also.

i was planning on welding a piece of 2x3 tubing on top of the skid plate/lower link mount to make the trans crossmember, but that sounds like it would be a lot of work to remove the skid pate. i think im going to weld to tabs front and back of the 2x3 and make the trans crossmemer bolt in seperate.

Well, i think ive got the front suspension basically done other than welding everything and make the top link mounts double shear. Pretty happy with how everything turned out, especially for having no idea what im doing. there is about 1/2 of clearance between the tire and the frame when its at full bump and turned all the way. it would hit the front core support mount but i already cut that off the frame and plan on moving them inside. the core support will obviously need some trimming, and i think thats the next thing im going to get mounted.

i dont have the shock mounted on the one side in some pictures because the stock ford steering arm is still on there. it does clear fine. the passenger side where the frame is widened to clear the A/C compressor is a little tight but should be fine, easy fix if not.

Has anyone used a ballistic fab Dana 60 shave kit? I'd like to get an aftermarket cover anyway so thinking about getting that kit.

started getting the radiator support to fit. cut off the mounts outside the frame and moved them to a crossmember i made on the inside. i think its going to look pretty good with a tub bumper right under the headlights and grill and then winch below the grill.

i also forgot to check to see if the radiator was going to fit until after, luckily it does.

got the trans crossmember almost done, the bolts on the side will only hold the weight when the skid plate is removed, still going to add a couple bolts to the skid plate from the crossmember too.

my buddy with the tubing bender is bringing it up tomorrow, hoping to get a lot done. i think it look pretty cool with the fender on. obviously gonna need to trim the wheel well forward a little.

im getting excited.

also probably buying a 2012 4 door white rubicon tomorrow. i dont remember if i mentioned that i sold the nice white 2013 jeep sahara i had. made $6500 on it. :flipoff7: girlfriend was still sad so gonna buy this rubicon and sell the blue one she is driving.

2012 with only 16k miles, i dont think it will take much to fix. the only problem i have with it is the interior color....i really really liked the black of the sahara we had.

Lookin good Dan-o.
thanks!

jeep sold for about $2000 more than i wanted to spend, which was still pretty cheap, but until i get the right hand drive sold i cant afford to have more debt! haha

i should probably order all my steering stuff today if im going to get this thing driving by the end of next week... and gears for the rear axle, and driveshafts. and a shifter for the transfercase... which i should probably rebuild before i put in too.

is there a good cable shifter that would work well for this 241?
