So why bother having a super cushy Cadillac, if you are going to have crappy steering that won't return to center???

Martin
They do make return to center steering valves for hydraulic steering... You need to find a 'Load reactive' type. Like this one. But there are LOTS to choose from

On the way home with the new rubicon, the brackets just ripped off the front axle, like it had a lot of wheel speed and then the front end caught traction. Broke the pinion off. Has a few aftermarket parts, CAI, fox shocks, sone really dumb exhaust tips, and I think a lift kit? I'll get some pictures when I get it unloaded tonight. If my $700 pickup makes it home..

The metal cloak sticker makes me think there are some good suspension parts. They make decent sfjdd

Funny story...

the guy that wrecked this must have had nice bumpers on it... and then out these back in after he wrecked it... because the rear bumper was just glued on. And it flew off. On the interstate. LUCKILY the rain and hail were so bad I was the only one going 65 on the interstate, everyone else was pulled over.

Fox shocks may be a JKS or BDS lift kit. JKS is better, but BDS isn't bad. Take pictures of the springs

I think it's a JKS but I forgot to look when I got home. Trip lasted about 3 hours longer than planned and I had to get up early today.

Just going to get sone replacement brackets and weld them back on? My buddy did that with a one generation older Wrangler he towed in.

I think so, and probably add some gussets and a truss to it. I think my dad wants to keep it for him. The thing is in great shape other than the axle.

Sent the stock duramax driveshaft i had in for mockup with my dad to get shortened tomorrow. onto my front driveshaft, was thinking about ordering a 1410 double cardan but most of my facebook friends seem to think that a 1350 will be plenty. i was more worried about the extra angle than extra strength.

probably too early to be putting together a parts list for that k5 i picked up a couple months ago...

I just saw somewhere the other day that some one makes billet control arm mounts to weld to the axle that have a uniball I think. Might be overkill for this.

Sooo.. Problem because I'm dumb.
I had the front section of the driveshaft shortened planning on running a slip yoke there. Well, obviously then there is nothing to hold the front shaft from sliding forward and backwards other than the carrier bearing.:doah:

If I put a SYE on the 241 then the driveshaft is too short. I wonder if an eco box would offset the distance enough..

Or I could put a pillow block instead of the carrier bearing?

I did get the brake lines mostly figured out. Then helped a buddy out with his turbo piping. Turbo LS fox body. Stock bottom end 4.8 and an s475, should break into the 8s this year.

Messed around with a scrap piece and the tubing bender.

Then I tried to kill my cherry picker... This is only 18 inches under the tire, it should be capable of around 50.

How long would the shaft need to be to do sans carrier bearing? If not you'll probably have to start over - maybe you'd be able to sneak an sye in there...
