linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

Got rid of the Tan TJ this weekend and the black TJ this weekend. Now just 1 more TJ and 3 more JKs to go and we will be down to just the hard rock and my buggy JK.... going to work on the Escalade tomorrow night to hopefully get it ready to take to Colorado and wheel Saturday and Sunday.

Also going to look at the kodiak to see if he wants to trade for a Jeep.

I couldn’t really remember what was on my list of things to do to the Escalade. But it rained all day today. And now wash it is definitely on the list. And install a 4wd shifter. Had to back all the way down a trail and go back to the shop once I realized I was almost stuck and in 2wd.

Also need to install a switch to tell it when it’s in low range. The transmission gets very confused.

I just have a 241 currently, doubler won’t be until winter. After driving it in 4 low though, it feels pretty damn peppy in 4low though, maybe use the doubler in the JK build instead

I forgot.

And honestly it's probably going to be plenty decent with just the 241 and the tranny shifting correctly. The 65e or whatever it has has a lower first anyways. It's not 60+:1 fun, but it's probably upper 40s:1 , more than enough for most stuff really.

So you can get an ARB or a grizzly locker for a Dana 60 in 40 spline, but not a Dana 80, are the side gears in them interchangeable? Or would I just need to have them opened up to 40 spline?

RD176 fits Dana 70HD and Dana 80 and is 40 spline and is used with numerically high gears.
RD177 is the same but for numerically low gears.

Got a rear sway bar today.

Made a parts list for a 40 spline steering Dana 80. It gets scary.
Hubs-$620
Spindles-$400
Drive flanges-$200
Solid knuckles-$460
ARB-$1200
Axleshafts-$1500?
Steering arms - $300
Gears - $300
Bearings and seals - $300?

Maybe I should just drive it first as is? Lol
