linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

Question on Detroit lockers, found a Dana 60 Detroit for 40 spline axleshafts. Will those side gears work in my Dana 70HD Detroit? Or can I drill the Dana 70/80 bolt pattern on there? I know people have done it with the ARB but maybe they have more surface to work with.

I did research to build a 14ff steer axle.

Dana 60 side gears are similar enough to 14ff side gears that they can be machined to fit . So yes, but maybe with some turning or something to fit right.

I would only buy it if I knew they would swap directly. $350 for it, then could swap my 35 spline side gears and use it in one of my many other Dana 60s laying around. Probably better just save money for a 40 spline ARB down the road.

It’s sort of free kind of. I took my buddy a 3.6 Jeep engine I was gonna sell him for $750, he has a 75 k5 body and frame, the frame has been cleaned and painted, front is boxed in with steering arm brace and stuff, ORD engine crossmember, the body is actually really straight and minimal rust, floor has been patched. He said well I’ll just trade you that and I thought about it.. and he said I’ll theow in the axles too. It’s a newer 14 bolt I sold him and a Dana 61 front.

I’m thinking, throw the 14 bolt under there, put my spare ford Dana 60 under with the truss; stock LS drivetrain, 3 link front leaf spring rear

I was actually planning on trying to copy your front 3 link. Same axle too.

I really want something I can wheel and not have to left off when I start getting close to a rock...

But, I haven’t traded for it yet, might just take the money or try and sell it all. Especially since I bought an $800 watch for absolutely no reason yesterday.
