linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

I wish I knew. Sounds cool though. Killer score BTW.
It looks like it wasn’t actually anything other than if you bought a bunch of options one came free? Or something like that, but not a physical change with the sequoia package. Sounds cool though.

You can put SEQUOIA on the side like the Jeep guys do with their package names.

The Escalade still exists.

After the last post I got a divorce.

Good news though, rented my own shop through my business, been getting it set up the last few months.

The zoo had a few small projects for me this year that it made sense to get my own shop.

As far as the Escalade goes. I may have accidentally bought some used bypass shocks off a 4400 car for it. I plan on sending the bypass shocks, coilovers and air bumps off to get rebuilt and valved for the Escalade after I get them mounted.

I also had a 4l80 built with 300m shafts and some other goodies that should be good just in case I ever find a 6-700hp engine.

And then a few days later I found a forged ls3 with ported heads and an LSA blower on Facebook.

If the ex wife who I still owe money to for the house asks if I bought any of that, the answer is no. ;)

If my accountant asks, it’s for my work truck :D

What did you pay for the 4L80? I'm looking for one for another K5 build I'm doing, just curious what the going rate is for a nicely built one. PM me if you want to keep prices out of the prying eyes of your ex!

I had a bunch of cores already, but I have a friend that builds them for a lot of drag and drive cars and has built some for me before. $2275 was parts and labor to build it. In a normal racecar application this would be good for 1200hp probably. You could take off $750 if you didn’t want 300m input and main shaft. Most stock rebuilds are $1500-1800 so it seemed like a no brainer to overbuild it.

I also had the 2wd speed sensor put in, so it’ll shift normal when the doubler is in low

There's a dude around here in an 8 second nova running the stock Input/main shafts. So it's probably ok to keep it if you want to save.

Buy one as a core and have it rebuilt by a place or person you trust.
A lot of the ones just sold as a built trans by like Monster and such aren't all they're cracked up to be.

That engine you picked up for this is my dream for my burb lol.
I'm not far off now. In a few years I'll probably step up again and do the LSA.

Being in TX I would contact Greg Ducato(on here) or Jakes Performance for someone local.

Since the divorce I may have also made 3 other major vehicle related purchases that are really dumb.

2018 f350, coilover front(dumb) has helper bags, about $4500 in aftermarket headlights and taillights and marker lights(dumb but I didn’t have to pay for them) and some other aftermarket stuff, it didn’t come with the black 22s that were on it so it looks kind of funny on stock wheels and 37s that are too wide for the wheels. But I’m cheap.

Then I found a 2023 32’ PJ trailer with mega ramps on copart with damage to the toolbox and ramps for $5200

My camper fits perfect on the front of the trailer.

And also found a front end wrecked 2012 G55 AMG G wagon.

Ultimate goal would be to put a cage, portal axles, and an aftermarket transfercase in and run the stock class at KOH, for now I’ll just get it halfway fixed and make sure it runs.

The bypass shocks I purchase are a set of 14” and a set of 16”

Where would you put the 14s and why?

Currently it’s 16” coilovers front and rear, do I limit the front travel or the rear? I’m leaning towards limiting the rear. I can always angle those a little more to compensate for a little bit of it.

Trailing arms would be awesome, but with rear steer they would have to be really triangulated and I don’t want that.

I’m a bit behind on updates because I don’t feel like much has gotten done. But I moved to a much larger shop(ironically where I used to be but now I’m renting it myself). Accidentally bought a press brake and a very nice bender. And I kind of accidentally started a fabrication company.

I cut the front frame off to try messing with the new bender. It’s pretty awesome. (And going to be much cooler when the new screen/computer they just released gets delivered)

The end goal is to weld it and sand it all down to make it look like the factory frame forms into a tube frame.

I’m just winging it, still not sure exactly on where I’m gonna put the raidiator and all the coolers.

The new bender came with several dies so I used 1 inch tubing and built a “core support” that will be easily removable without having to remove the radiator or any coolers. Just 4 or 6 bolts and 1 plug for the lights.

After that(no I haven’t finished a single project) I got mildly distracted and cut the backhalf I had previously built off, because again, the bender is very fun to use.

This is kind of where it’s currently at, most of this work was done in 2 weeks as I don’t work much in the summer.

Ultimate plan at the moment is to get the rear frame welded on, and build out the rear cage and get the front fenders and core support permanently mounted.

Then the rock sliders will be cut off and get boat sided.

Then a set of axletechs will be bought, we will cut the housing and build a driverside drop front axle.

What did you do with the Axletechs that you got from me?
