LS swap 88 jimmy

Father and Son project
Seems like you are moving along quite nicely.
I'll be watching as the LS swap seems more and more tempting

Decided on 2.5” lift for the jimmy. So decided we were going to take the axles out to swap springs and clean up the undercarriage. This is how the day started.

Just dont know when to stop…. Trying to get rid of things that aren’t needed any longer while cleaning it up. Tank and sending unit looks brand new which should help with the ls swap. Has some replaced floor pans and passenger side rocker. Also has new body bushings already installed.

Removed the front clip for easier access on the motor swap. Looks like it will be about a week before we can get back on it.

Very cool, it's a slippery slope when it comes to I'll fix while I'm in there, I'm jealous of your weather, it's crap in Oregon right now.

Yeah weather is tricky around here. We get a little bit of everything. Really have to watch out during hurricane season.

Front springs came in. Now we are thinking about blasting the frame for a good undercoat and paint. This project is getting out of hand haha.

It’s kinda overwhelming. We just have so many projects going on right now. We have my 84 k5, the 88 jimmy, my dads 72 nova, dads 71 c/20, brothers 77 stepside k10, brothers 03 SS pickup, and the obs race truck just to name a few haha. Yes some of them are running and don’t need much but there is always something to do.

Pulled the front axle out and cleaned up fire wall from old wiring and such for paint. It sure is nice having an A frame and fork lifts around to help with the removal of everything.797A5E87-B1D5-4BC9-A07A-9F753D643448.jpegF12C0CE7-8A78-489C-9E34-9474B41D697F.jpeg

getting the truck stripped down. Making some good progress and it is amazing how a project can spin out of control, but it will be worth it in the end.
