LS swap 88 jimmy

Father and Son project
I didn’t take a photo of the front clip before we took it apart. We are thinking bout blasting and powder coating the stock bumpers. The brake lines came in but we still need the proportion valve before we bolt them up. So here is our next round of sand blasting parts. IMG_2705.jpeg

Y’all are getting busy on this thing. I like it.
Yes sir…should get a few more things done in the next week. But I will also be going over ole yeller as well to make sure she is ready for the Moab trip

Just read through your build, I like how it started with just gonna LS swap it, no actually gonna remove the whole undercarriage lol

Yeah it defiantly got out of hand haha. Have just a few small parts left before the motor is ready to drop in. I’d say within a month or two we will have it moving under its own power so stay tuned!

Rolled out the motor today. Have a little parts list going for some things ordered. Installed the motor mounts from advanced adapters. Tomorrow will be my last day off for a few weeks so we will see what we can get done. IMG_2756.jpeg

Also the owners before us put in a sun roof. We are thinking about replacing the top of the cab to fix it. Well my Dad brought up the idea of making the truck a full convertible Jimmy. Any thoughts on that? I say no only cause I don’t think it looks right compared to the 73-75 full convertible. Let me know what y’all think.

Might as well...

Keep in mind the body will need to be stiffened up when you remove the roof.

He’s an officer if I remember correctly. But I have days off and I have zero time with my kids.
I'm guessing oil field
@Chevy305 I am in law enforcement here in Texas. We work the rotating 12 hour shifts that gives me a 7 day off break. @centexk5 my wife takes the three kids to alot of places during the week (beach twice this week) which frees up my off week days. It’s the off weekends we are super busy for sure though.

Called a buddy for a part ended up bringing the whole blazer home. Not sure what I’m going to do with another truck.

Usually with painted mild steel the paint is pretty much just for shipping and it burns off during the first run. If you do strip them and paint with something else, the hard part is getting them installed without the paint being all scraped up. If they're stainless I wouldn't worry about paint.
