LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
Ordered the stock replacement and I'll just put the other one back in the attic I guess.
 
So, now that the radiator is fixed, I decided to get back to playing with the tune.

I started by downloading the current, then downloading it again under a new name.
That way I can go back if I want.
I took the new one and turned the timing down like Heath had advised.
I have a WOT timing of 27 now, and blended it for m there.
At the same time (should have waited and did one at a time), I turned up the acceleration enrichment.


I went to a couple sites like LS1tech, and some other one I can't remember.
Essentially my engine is an iron block LS3 with a cam. Same compression, bore, stroke, heads, etc.

According to those sites 27 is the sweet spot for the LS3.
So tonight on my way home from work, I'll see how it does:dunno:
 
As the MAP drops from 55 to 100, the spark table says advance should go from 40 to 29. On your plot we see it go from about 30 to 15. What is modifying the timing? Is it recording knock?
I figured this out.
I'm idling at 890-990. Map is 50 or so.
When I smash the throttle the map jumps immediately to 98-99. In this graph at 900 rpm and 99 kpa the timing is way down.

I went and just changed everything from 88kpa and up to 27. So that should stop.
And being at 27 seems to help.
My rpm still does that catch and drop at 2700. But my speed kept climbing through it.
Compare these 2 you can see that difference at the dead spot.

So, the timing drop is cured. :waytogo:

The AF drop is kind of expected I guess. Even does that now that the accel enrichment was turned up.

Lowest 0-60 yet though :woot:. 5.45 seconds.

Where the upgrades will shine I think is 0-100 or 1/4 mi.

Going to play around some more. Butt dyno feels better for sure.

Just gonna let it self tune the fuel for a while.

Also...
I found out that getting 100+ VE number on an NA engine can happen due to like air scoops and such that push some air due to vehicle speed.
The area I'm getting over 100 is usually where I'm at when I'm flying down the highway. And I have that air coming in around the lights and forcing through the fender... :dunno:
Not sure if that's enough or not.
 
About the only time I've heard of going over 100 ve when not boosted is when the intake harmonics line up perfect with the cam timing. Big scoop in reality probably isn't gonna be measurable unless you're at like aircraft speeds.

Unless you're running LSR on the back roads.. :haha:

Just something I read trying to figure out why I'm getting 110 and chit on a big area at the top of the rpm range.
 
Not saying it couldn't, but doing it by accident would be like lottery ticket time.

Naturally aspirated F1 engines can get over 100% but those are feats of engineering. It's all in the harmonics in the intake/exhaust. If everything is right you can vibrate your air movement in the engine like a pipe organ or sub box port and get a little higher than 100%

But picking up from the front of the engine bay is unlikely.

Whatever you do to "push" air through is likely negated by the restriction of your valves, intake system, exhaust, etc, which is why even hitting a true 100% VE is tough. What's happening with your table is that some other parameter is wrong, skewing the VE values higher to get the fueling right. For example, the displacement of the engine or the injector flow could be off, or the calculated pressure drop across the injectors. It's not necessarily a problem for things besides OCD, as in the end the fuel ends up correct. Some of those parameters being off can cause other issues, like poor idle.
 
The one thing that's odd about the Terminator X, is there is almost Nothing you can change about the injectors.
Model number, and 'Off Time'. That's all I've found.:dunno:
