LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
I figure they probably did.
I've seen a bunch being flogged, and haven't read the same stuff about them.

Chevy claims it's not an issue. So i was hoping they didn't just throw an LSX logo on one end of stock Vette ones and run with it lol.

Made me wonder if that was why they changed the redline on this from 7100 to 6500 in the advertisements

Chevy says the other ones are people running close to redline all the time.

Never looked up the Vette numbers. But these come up as LSX like heath said.

I'm sure they'll be fine.

I may have went too far. But I added one more touch to the emblems.

Was that trans glitter aluminum or steel?
Looks like its about to get Funnernhell in Shady land!

Most of what was sticking to the 2 magnets was black. All the glitter was floating.

I'm currently not happy with the trans performance. And hoping it's not too late for it.
Some times on take off it'll make a real short sound where you can tell something is spinning then it grabs like NOW. It's like a half second where you kind of hope it's tire spin but know it isn't.
Then It BANGS into second like there's dynamite behind you, even at super low throttle.
All of that happens periodically whether I'm at 10% throttle or 100%. Surprisingly the severity doesn't change with power.

Then, when you do get into second, it's shifted fully and you want to mash it from there or even just get into it half way, it'll stutter.
Kinda like running by our finger down clean Tupperware. Grab, nope, grab, nope, grab, nope.
I like thinking it's tires but I don't believe that.
Only does it for a half second or second. But it does.

I'm seriously thinking it has to be the dex6 :dunno:
This trans was built for dex 3 and sure, Dex 6 is probably fully capable in a DD stock vehicle.

The 6 worked good and did NONE of this with the old engine.
Put power and real torque in front of it and it's been doing not since day 1.

It never slips into gear though.... That dreaded mush shift, or rev before it grabs.. never.
When it shifts, it shifts. It just does all that other crap around it.

And as far as the engine goes ...
From idle to 5500 is ABSOLUTELY F*CKIN AMAZING!!!!!. LOL
This thing pulls so damn hard it's unreal for a 6500+# machine.
I've found an issue above 5700 that needs a call to Holley to resolve though.
When it hits 5700 it just flat dies, then when you let off the pedal, it coasts for a second and catches back in, backfiring like fuggin crazy until it catches its self and purs like a kitten again just smoothly down the road.:dunno:

Idle-5500 smooth as silk, no issues anywhere.
Somewhere between 57-5900 it's like you tripped the keys off for a second and turned it back on.
Always there. Never happens any other time.
Big bumps, choppy roads, full on mash runs up to 5500... All flawless.
Limiter is set at 6900. But it just won't go there...?

Definitely funner than hell up to that point though :thumb:

ill get her figured out.

One thing I have realized though. Is even now, this thing is not going to do standing smoky burnouts.
It's gonna need the roll control to at least get em started for sure. When the trans plays nice shell grab out of the hole and friggin GO though lol.

What kind of clutches did he use in the build? Your builder should tell you what fluid to run.

When I mentioned dex 6 he said I could, but it wouldn't make any difference.
All I did was ask him to build it to handle 850-900hp and picked it up when it was done.
I have no idea what was done, what was used, etc.
He said he built it exactly like one he built for a dude with 1600hp, just without the hardened shafts.
So I'd guess decent parts. But I don't know.

Given the fact that it's been doing these things, and once our Walmart closes in a month I can't get dex6 cheap anymore. I'm going to just swap back to the dex3, change it a few times, and see if it improves.
I'll leave the filter alone for now.

Which data log shows that exact scenario? The one I looked at where it had an RPM error?

Found that.
My rev limiter was setup to kill spark and fuel both.
Which killed the truck.
I found that in a Holley forums and switched it to spark only. And that stopped.

It's still setup for spark only, and I'm not getting anywhere near the limiter.

When I had the limiter at 5500 with this engine I hit it once after the 450mile oil change, and knew what it was immediately. Limiter worked flawlessly.

Haven't even done that yet. Burb has taken a back seat since the 9th when I was in the ER lol.
I haven't even looked into changing the diagnostic to 1 yet.

Is that just adding it to a log list.? Like the fuel, or trans one?
