Most of the clutches in autos can only stand a few milliseconds before they're toast. let alone a few secs. There's not much material there.

That was through some company, can't remember their name. Agdieseler was using one from them I think. So I called em.
I wanted close ratio sport trans, not dump truck shift points. Not sure what a 4500-5600 is like, but the 3500 I had sure wouldn't be fun to drive in a sport truck slamming through gears at near 7000rpm.

My 4l60e used to bang and scratch the tires in 3rd. It still hits 2nd good enough to scratch but the tires are to grippy now.I don't think they're necessary really.
Lot of money. And this one is "supposed" to be built for more than I can throw at it.
Really a stock 4l80 with the pressure duty cycle turned up should handle 650hp.
So I'm not sure what's up.
I wish I'd never tried the dex6 though. Still think that was the cause of this. Never be able to prove it though. That r the massive super banging 1-2 this has
Dude was telling me all about how tire chirping shifts just break stuff, so I said just make it so it'll handle 850-900 HP and I'll control pressures and shifts with the computer then. And I get it, with a super explosive 1-2, even with the duty cycle at 45.
Now the duty cycle is set for 5 all the way on every shift. And it's slipping or stuttering.
I'm going back for him to drive it, and show him where my DC is at. See what he says.

Going into second with the first trans I can't really remember how it was. This trans is like an explosion even at low throttle.
I think the gear stars are like $6k or something.
It was a stretch to do the $2500 for this one.
If I have to I'll stick the old one back in and see what happens.
At this point I'd guess the converter needs pulled apart and cleaned either way, so it probably wouldn't hurt it to run the old trans with it.
May just try the old converter even since it was supposed to be a 2400.
That'll be after this one gives up the ghost or something though.

I'd have to ask them if the 4l85 would take 6500 rpm shifts. I know in stock form the 4l85 has a lower max input speed because of the extra planetary gear.

You could see about having @Greg Ducato do it for you, you'd have to drive or ship it to him in TX I think it is?

You shouldn't have to do it again when you just paid for it, I thought from the beginning it's a bad recipe to build it so you need to turn the pressure down electronically at WOT. However, it should not fail that quickly, I think something else was wrong with it, whatever your guy did.

For what you are doing it should not need any hardened part upgrades, just basic hydraulic modifications, and a 34 element sprag and maybe a roller output thrust bearing, etc.

According to him, he rebuilt it with good clutches and such and put a different solenoid in with a basic shift kit.
He said I'd be able to bring my it back and put a stock solenoid in to make it shift stock.
Whatever that solenoid is....
I'm going to be taking it back to him after I get the fluid looking good when it comes out.

You just open the datalog while you have the tune open, then go back to the tune, it can overlay.
highlight both files and try right clicking and see if there is an add to zip option, if not, you will need a zip software like 7zip or something.
I can't really download any software at the moment.

You just have to be careful with where you get the software.
I would pay for one before I get it from a shady free source.
The reason I stopped using the anti-virus software was that I discovered it was either attracting, or actually included viruses.
It also was bogging down my PC
I've never run an antivirus and haven't had an issue to date. What software are you worried about downloading? The Holley stuff?
The stuff I worry about is like the zip software and such. Just bugs me because currently this computer isn't backed up yet and it's got EVERYTHING in it. I REALLY need to get it backed up so I don't lose 12 years of pics and such.

Well you just said something very important, Kaspersky removed the windows built in protection.
That is something I didn't know but it makes sense because they want to trap you in continuous membership.
I sold computers for a living for 12 years and I never had issues with viruses but my clients who insisted on using anti-virus instead of practicing caution, ended up with problems all the time and I had to constantly come and clean up, recover what I can and Reinstall everything from scratch after a full wipe.
I actually didn't like it at first because I used to include the service in my warranty but eventually I had to quit that and had it as a separate service that only stupid clients had to pay for.
I have 2 external hard drives for backup..... Just haven't used them in a long time and I have to find them again so I can
lol
