LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
I'm going to keep the bondo just down in the seem to smooth the transition, and only really get it into the face where I had to do the pie cut

Getting there.

First round of bondo, and high build.
I'm going to do more with it, but really, I'd probably be happy with it like this lol.
Well, except the little spots I have to fill yet.IMG_20260323_180010589_HDR.jpgIMG_20260323_180045854_HDR.jpgIMG_20260323_180038628_MP.jpgIMG_20260323_175419073_HDR.jpgIMG_20260323_175312341_HDR.jpgIMG_20260323_175343985_MP.jpgIMG_20260323_175433718_MP.jpgIMG_20260323_175446010_MP.jpgIMG_20260323_175442793_MP.jpgIMG_20260323_175354082_MP.jpgIMG_20260323_175448711_MP.jpgIMG_20260323_175414046_MP.jpgIMG_20260323_175407530_MP.jpg

Kind of am already. :doah: lol.. I have to finish this, and do some on my buddies Cordoba. Change floor pans, rockers, and and a middle cab corner on the blue truck.
And my father in law is thinking about paying me to do 3/4 of the lower 1' of his extended Ford van.

After that, I have floor stuff and inner doors on my mom's jeep she's been hounding me about, and somewhere in there I have a bunch of holes forming in the wife's Yukon lol.
I may just buy her a different one though. Sounds way easier lol

Forgot to add these.

This flex block has a nice radius on the edge when the paper folds over the sides. And it works amazing on the arch. Plus down in the body lines.IMG_20260324_005857389_MP.jpg

And I got some of these Rolocs that are essentially a small flap disc. They got right in to the body line, And made short work of the blending in there.IMG_20260322_192632763_MP.jpgIMG_20260322_192656307.jpgIMG_20260322_192643579.jpg
Also found out, their claim of working up to 20,000rpm was false, because the first time I smacked the trigger it exploded off the die grinder, bounced off the truck and then my face shield. :yikes:

Put it back on and use the trigger gingerly lol.

I changed something.....

$350 gamble to see if it helps the idle catch its self better at stops and such. It's been tuned all over the place and nothing seemed to change much.
So.... We'll see:dunno:IMG_20260326_175211135_HDR.jpg

Real easy to think these are the same. And I'm still not convinced they aren't made in the same factory. Just to different companies specs.... IMG_20260326_142059634_HDR.jpgIMG_20260326_142148943_HDR.jpg

Very Few differences aside from the IAC circuit holes.IMG_20260326_142116063_MP.jpgIMG_20260326_142108531_MP.jpg

Blade a little thicker, and MAYBE at a different angle.
It DOES seem to have quicker throttle response though. Which is a plus. Lol

Getting excited :woot:

Charging the sub batteries and capacitor bank:D
I'm getting a 6 month in the waiting BASS fix before I leave here tonight lol.IMG_20260326_181642730_HDR.jpg

Lithium batteries would be lighter and work better for the amps since they have much lower internal resistance, no need for caps with those. I dig the old school Orion amps though.

I won't do lithium inside this truck.
I'm thinking I'm going to switch to starting batteries instead of deep cycle though.
For the faster discharge rate.

I'm not risking a $40k build on lithium batteries lol.

They've been around a while, but I've been too many videos of bad chit happening with them and chit burning down.
I'm not brave enough lol

The XSpower ones are big in the stereo world and have been around a long time.
I'm just skeeered still lol.

I run LiFePO4s in my RV, the shop truck, and my camping trailer. The ones in my RV and trailer are of the chinesium variety (Vestwood) and I've never had issues. I've been playing with lithium batteries for 20+ years in RC cars and planes, never had one catch on fire.
Modern ones have all kinds of safeties built in, not to mention you bring your cell phone in the truck all the time. I'd rather run the small risk of fire than the high risk of dumping battery acid all over the place. Ask @ktmoutfront how fun it is when your Optima gel cell vents on the trail.

I only run AGM in cab. And I don't CHARGE my cell phone in it. Lol.
That's the part that gets my brain, is the massive discharge rates, followed with high amps going back in immediately.

It's got to be 99% safe or companies like XSpower wouldn't have lasted so long.
I keep staring at em when I'm in stereo mode on the web.
Just not ready to jump on board yet lol. :waytogo:

AGM=Gell Cell like an Optima, the can still vent and spray acid vapor all over inside your cab. I've had it happen with an X2 AGM in my RV, I saw it happen to Wade on the tail, and I've even had it happen to me with a battery in a UPS in a datacenter.

Optima batteries are AGM, but that is not the same thing as Gel. The AGM has lower resistance and therefore can deliver more current. Gel isn't really what you want for starting your car - those are the batteries found in UPS and emergency lights. Any lead-based battery can be boiled to where it vents if it's charged hard enough. AGM is safer than flooded, though.

I did not realize that, I thought they were two terms for the same thing. At any rate, if you have an AGM, gell cell, or flooded lead acid battery installed inside your vehicle it should be installed in a sealed case that is vented outside of the vehicle.
