Well... She looks good in the rain.
But unfortunately, it spent its first night outside at my place in like 2-3 years.
After getting it out of the yard yesterday, I headed to the gas station, figuring some of the water on the road would wash the little bit of dirt/mud off some.
Hit a puddle since there was a car next to me and it ended up being much deeper than I thought.
Absolutely douched the whole thing Including the engine bay.
Made it about a block and all hell broke loose.
Dieing, backfiring, spitting/sputtering, making grindy noises, then quit.
Being on a 4 lane with traffic a and no where to pull off, I started it back up, and managed to limp it along like that to get to a side street.
I was alone and 3 blocks from the shop, so tried to limp it there.
Probably shouldn't have, but I was on my way to work when it happened and on a time crunch.
Hope like hell I didn't hurt it.
Half a block from the shop, it came out of it. Soni chocked it up to water in the air filter and drove towards my house quick.
And it did it again a block away.
Almost didn't restart. So it stayed home when I got there.
Now, it started and ran fine today. No new sounds, nothing different than normal.
But it's in the shop now, and I plan to go through all the electrical plugs, check for water, and re- dielectric grease them all.
They already have a generous amount in all of them... But SOMETHING got wet
Key places for me to start are the crank and cam signals, along with where they meet the ECU.
Because I had no RPM signal, and it said ERROR in that spot on the handheld when it was messed up.
