M1008 Cucv Ls Swap Cadolet Build, long range Blazer Bash 2026 prep

Converting my M1008 from 6.2 Diesel to LQ9 power
As for the 35 outers

Unless you go nuts, the stock shafts will be fine for now

The guys that break stock 30s are usually pushing them fairly hard with at least 37 inch tires are bigger. I’m pretty sure on your first trip back to Moab, you’re not gonna be going full throttle anywhere

I don't think I am either.

I drove like an A hole in my old k5 and never broke one

One thing I will tell you, don’t ever back up with the steering wheel all the way to the lock. That is some special magic that will break those shafts

My axle guy has over the years kept track of broken axles and approximately 2/3 of them break backing up. Straighten the wheels out and then back up.

I drove my blazer on 40s with stock Dana 60 axles the first couple trips with no issues from the shafts , my biggest issue was balance. Lol

I never had issues with breaking shafts, even on my 1/2 ton axles, first with 35" tires locked front and back, then 37" locked front and back.
And I didn't really baby my rigs.
I just drive on torque not rpm, and try not apply power when turned because the single ujoint design is weakest when not straight.
I did however breaking a few driveshafts.
:doah:.
I also broke frames... big torquey turbo diesel on 1310 driveshafts

I picked up a NOS cucv bottom seat cover. You can't buy this color and it's a rare part, lmc, Usa1 and others do not stock this color. The seat back is fine but the bottom was trashed and some one put a factory seat cover on it but it went bad also. I'll rebuild my seat before blazer bash and get new foam and other parts if needed. 20250225_182131.jpg20250225_182249.jpg

I'm having a issue with my heater controls I can't get the metal wire that attaches to the metal flapper in the heater box to connect, how does it fit in down there. Non ac truck. You can see the metal wire in the picture.
